Thank you, Mrs. Schauer & Mrs.

our students, our parents, our
staff, and our school! You are

very much appreciated!! Thanks
for being YOU!
UPCOMING STAAR TESTING
The teachers of MJH work diligently and passionately day in and day out to provide
your child with first-class instruction that fosters personal growth and success making MJH a
great place to learn! Our curriculum is constantly being reviewed and revised through endless
analyzing of student data in order to meet the needs of ALL students. Our teachers at MJH
are dedicated individuals that love kids and love teaching! We are not only preparing
students to be successful on state assessments but more importantly preparing them to
flourish at the high school level and beyond.
State assessments, STAAR testing, are just around the corner so it’s time for our
students to show what they know! Our students are here to show the STAAR test who’s
BOSS!! We ask that you please make sure that your child gets plenty of rest and that he/she
has a good breakfast on the day of testing. Your child’s attendance on testing days is
extremely important so we advise you to reschedule any doctor or dentist appointments to a
later date. It is also crucial that your child arrives at school on time and that he/she stays for
the full school day.
If at all possible any electronic devices (cell phones, iPads, iPods, blackberries,
kindles, apple watches, etc.) should be left at home on the day of testing. If not, be aware
that all electronic devices will be taken up before testing and given back at the end of the 4
hour testing window. Comfortable clothing is encouraged so that the students feel relaxed
and ready to ace the test but please make sure they are in dress code (no pajama’s, pillows,
or blankets are allowed). Thank you for your assistance in helping your
child have a successful testing experience! Testing dates are as follows:

On February 20th, several MJH students competed in the Academic District
UIL meet. The meet included students from the Athens, Crandall, Ferris and
Kaufman school districts. Eight Grade came in 3rd place and Seventh Grade
came in 2nd. Our school was 3rd overall. MJH students received
many medals. Outstanding performances from all of our students.
They were all very successful and excellent representatives for our
school. Congratulations to all of the participants and coaches!
Hard work does pay off!

Alicia White
Ms. White does so much for our
campus. She is phenomenal at scanning and running data for our school
which is a huge piece to the puzzle.
MJH could not and would not be
successful without data and she is
THE guru, “Queen of Data”. Ms.
White LOVES our students and it
shows through her interactions with
them on a daily basis. She has a gift
in building strong relationships with
our junior high students. She builds
relationships that will last a lifetime. Thank you for what you do for
our teachers, our students, our
school, and your administrators.
Thank you for being the BEST data
collector EVER!!
