who is collecting gently used shoes and
boots of all sizes. All items donated will be
going to the Miracle League Complex for
special needs kids and to the Crosswalk
Teen Center. Donations will be collected
until Friday, February 19th. Simply drop

Island City Academy is offering Painting with Dessert on Saturday, February 27th (our version of
Painting with a Twist).
Mrs. Spanninga will be teaching two sessions of art. The morning session is an easier painting opened
to any age from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The second session is a bit more difficult and is open to anyone 12
or older from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost is $20.00 per painter and includes a 16 x 20 canvas, all
the paint, dessert and drinks. This is an 8th grade fundraiser. There will also be a jewelry party from
noon to 3:00 p.m. If you are not able to come to the painting class, stop by the jewelry party. All
money raised from the painting class and jewelry party will go to sending our 8th grade class to Boston
in May. Each session is limited to 20 people. RSVP and money is due on Wednesday, February 17th.

The Island City Academy Choir will be having a concert on Thursday,
March 31st at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and watch.
The choir, under the direction of Mrs. Sherman has been working
hard and hope to see you at the concert.
Attention Parents:
There will be NO afternoon Latch Key on Friday, February 12th. The
12th is a half day and school dismisses at 11:30. If your child is
riding Eatran, please be sure to make arrangements ahead of time.
Attention Island City Academy Girls Basketball Families:
Team pictures will be Thursday, February 11th. Players need to be at the
school dressed in their basketball uniforms at 3:40 p.m. Order forms were
sent home today (Friday, February 5, 2016). The cost is $20.00.
