Our Story
Incorporated in 1980, Seair Seaplanes started with a single Cessna
185 used for charters, as well as providing maintenance and servicing.
Seair now has 11 seaplanes in our fleet and operates 4 different types
of aircraft, providing seaplane charters, daily scheduled service and
seaplane tours. Seair has become an industry leader as a seaplane
charter specialist throughout British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest
and as we continue to grow, our commitment to safety and overall
guest experience will always be our first priority.
Seair Seaplanes is the world’s largest
seaplane operator of float equipped Cessna Caravans. This technically
advanced aircraft has a modern interior that comprises a three
screen, Garmin G1000 glass cockpit integrated avionics system.
This arrangement, which includes a Traffic Information System,
Terrain Awareness System and Synthetic Vision, combined with
audio and visual cues to the pilot, replaces the old analog round
flight instruments. Pilots attend Flight Safety International’s Wichita,
Kansas training centre for specific ground and simulator training on
this advanced system. Additional interior features consist of spacious,
leather seating, air conditioning, reading lights, air vents and shoulder
harnesses. All of these superior features, along with a high speed
capability make the Caravan the ideal charter aircraft, providing a
quick, convenient and comfortable flight.

Seair understands your time is important and you need convenient
and seamless travel. Set up a corporate account with us so that
pre-payment is handled for your staff and your clients. No fuss, no

Seair’s primary focus
is safety, and we have integrated exceptional initiatives
within our aircraft and at each of our terminals to ensure every
effort is upheld for the safety and comfort of our passengers, as
well as our staff. Each aircraft is equipped with a state of the art
Satellite Tracking System providing continuous flight data, location
information and messaging capability. On average, each of our
pilots has over 10,000 hours of flying experience and undergo yearly
recurrent training, as well as underwater egress training. Life vest
safety displays are located at each of our terminals, which the pilots
use for passenger safety briefings prior to each flight. The dock at
our Nanaimo terminal is a distinct “H” shape that has two centre
platforms which allow for aircraft to be raised and free of corrosive
salt water. Seair also maintains a Safety Management System
program that is continually audited and updated.
