Toby Coffey is Head of Digital Development for the
National Theatre. His team is responsible for the
creative and technical development of the digital
interfaces between the NT and its audiences. He
focuses on developing forms of digital engagement
and interaction around the NT and its repertoire of
productions. Toby is currently leading the NT’s
Immersive Storytelling initiatives looking at the
application of 360 films, VR and installations in
compelling methods of storytelling.

Anthony joined the BFI from Time Inc UK where he
built NME.COM into a music editorial behemoth (aka
Europe’s biggest music content site). He followed
that up by driving Marie Claire to the position of the
UK’s #1 upmarket women’s website. Anthony is a

specialist. He will be disclosing secrets and sharing
insights on how to grow, reach and retain users.

Existing digital platforms and library systems have
long been focused on delivering journal articles,
primarily in STM subjects, meaning that the types of
content formats that we publish have been left behind
in the move to digital. The content doesn’t fit the
journal mould, and so remains difficult for academic
researchers and students to discover and connect
with.
I will explore the ways in which our suite of subjectfocused digital platforms will connect specialist users
with essential content through a combination of

have been used by CNN’s digital affiliates to do the
same in their local markets.
The Digital Publishing Division of the ONS set out to
change Parliamentary findings that claimed figures
were: 'hard to find and confusingly presented' in
order to build trust with its users. The Office for
National Statistics recently launched a new website
built on the contributions of over 2000 individuals and
