Arriving at the Canopy Tower
Thank you for choosing to stay at the Canopy Tower. We would like to make your arrival as easy and
stress-free as possible, as driving in a foreign country can be a daunting experience! We have prepared
this guide, with detailed directions and maps, to aid you if you are arriving by car or taxi. If you have any
further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to your arrival!
Driving Directions from Tocumen International Airport
There are two major express toll routes through/around Panama City. Both are card-controlled, so you will need to
purchase a card (either from the rental car company or at the entrance to the toll highways). The Corredor Norte
(North Corridor) will bring you north of the city, closer to Gamboa and avoids the downtown core. The Corredor Sur
(South Corridor) passes through Panama City along the coastline to the west side of the city, near the Canal, where
you can access the highway toward Gamboa. Driving from the airport to the Canopy Tower takes approximately 45
minutes, depending on traffic.
Corredor Norte (Red Route)
Exit the terminal and follow the highway (Avenida
Domingo Diaz) toward Panama City. To access the
Corredor Norte, take the ramp to the right on Avenida M.
Zarate (after the large new Metro Mall on your right hand
side, stay in the right lane and turn right at the Delta gas
station); follow signs to Brisas Del Golf and Corredor Norte.
Enter the Corredor Norte and follow west. There will be
two toll stops, totaling approximately $4 (be sure to have
this loaded on your card). Exit at Via Centenario, and
continue on this highway until you reach Avenida Omar
Torrijos H., and exit right. As you get close to this exit,
watch for signs to Colon, Arraijan and Paraiso. Exit the
highway onto Avenida Omar Torrijos H, just before crossing
the Centennial Bridge to Arraijan. Follow Avenida Omar
Torrijos H toward Gamboa. You will pass the Radisson
Summit Hotel & Golf Course, and the road will bend to the
right and under a small railway bridge. Turn left just after
the bridge, at the entrance to Soberania National Park.
You’re getting close!
Corredor Sur (Blue Route)
Exit the terminal and follow the highway toward
Panama City. Soon after leaving the terminal, watch
for the exit to the Corredor Sur, and exit to your right.
There will be two toll stops, totaling approximately $3
(be sure to have this loaded on your card). You will
exit the Corredor Sur at its end, on Avenida Balboa.
From here, follow signs to Avenida Omar Torrijos H. You
will reach a large round-about near the Marcos A.
Gelabert (Albrook) Airport. Continue north on
Avenida Omar Torrijos H. You will pass by Clayton &
Miraflores Locks, Pedro Miguel Locks, & the town of
Paraiso. Continue straight and follow signs to
Gamboa. You will pass the Radisson Summit Hotel &
Golf Course, and the road will bend to the right and
under a small railway bridge. Turn left just after the
bridge, at the entrance to Soberania National Park.
You’re getting close!

When you turn left at Soberania National Park:
Approximately 1.5 km up the road you will pass Summit Municipal Park on your right. Shortly
after (approximately 1 km), you will see a large blue sign that says Canopy Tower in 500 m.;
the road to the Canopy Tower is the next road on your right. Turn right into the entrance of
the Canopy Tower. You will see a small parking lot and trailhead on your left (Plantation
Road), and a small guard house straight ahead and a gate. If the gate is closed, you may
open it; it is not locked. Follow the winding, paved road up the hill, please go slow and be
aware that vehicles may be coming down the road.
When you arrive at the top, there is a
locked gate. Use the intercom on your
left and let the staff know you have a
reservation, and they will kindly open
the gate for you.
Welcome to the Canopy Tower! Entrance to Canopy Tower
If arriving by taxi, please be aware that most
taxi drivers are not very familiar with the area.
Perhaps they may know Summit or Gamboa.
It is best to ask the driver if he knows the area
prior to accepting the ride, to avoid any
future headache! You may need to direct the
driver to the Canopy Tower, and most taxi
drivers do not speak English (some tourism
taxis may speak English and know the area).
