moral values among learners. We are asking permission from your good office to allow us to promote our

difficulties and hardships among Filipino families-i.e. illiteracy caused by poverty. The films are entitled;
Mangarap Ka, Emmanuel, Biyaheng Kariton Klasrum, Satang Pier, Biyahe Ng Pangarap. These
movies reveal the signature and true value of education to Filipinos, but most especially for the less
fortunate. We believe that these movie line-ups can motivate and propel our Filipino learners to value
education as their only key in opening doors of great opportunities and success. Our movie line-ups are the
best way for introspection among parents, teachers. out-of school youth and stakeholders. Thus. these
films stress that, "ThlOugh Education, poverty is no longer a hindrance to success n •

EH, leAS. BATA! Movie Synopsis:
Bullying is one of the country's persistent problems which haven't been resolved up to this date. In
school, oftentimes we only see two faces of students - the bully and the victim. In our eyes and in our
own discretion, the oppressed are the protagonists and the bullies are the perpetrators. But there's
something we may never know - there must be a reason behind every bully's and victim's behavior.
Lefs take a glimpse of the story of a poor 10-year old Billy (Bugoy Carino), a transferee from a public
school in the province and a product of a broken family. His mother, A1ing Clara (Leah Vlaje), has been
working as a laundry woman for the Reyes family for years. Mrs. Reyes (Uberty 'Espiritu) is supporting his
studies so there would be someone to stay with her son, Jacob (Jerome Miles Manzano) and his
orphaned nephew, Benjie (John Edward Perez) whenever she is out to attend to her businesses. Billy
sleeps with the two cousins in Jacob's room, not with his Nanay Clara.
Billy, Jacob, and Benjie are classmates in a private school in an urban community where he witnesses
rampant bullying of bigger students to the smaller, weaker ones. Billy meets Michelle (Mona Louise Rey),
a petite, fragile-klOking girt who is oftentines buUied in school. The Grade 7 best of friends, Gerry (Cartes
Dala) and Marco (Marco Chavez), together with his friends, try to get everyone's attention by bullying
classmates and' other schoolmates who are in no match to them especially some of students in lower
grades. Later on, the group successfully gets Jacob and Michelle's friend, Haroidl (Cart Acosta), on their
side. Harold, who used to defend them from bullies in school, joins Gerry and Marco's group and turns
into a bully. There are times that Manuel (Edward Ropero) , the school janitor, witnesses the group's
misbehavior and consequently reprimands them. Teacher Rica @<rissha VI8je) displays an intense
disapproval of bullying.
Billy plays a significant role in resolving an untoward situation which brings about changes in his life and
,in the lives of the kids, paren1s and 1eachers in the school. His wisdom and positive behavior towards
everything that happens bring about light and realization to all concerned.
Eh, Kasi Bata! is a character-dJiven film that reveals stories of several children in the urban area. At its
heart are those with the most at stake and whose stories each represent a different facet of this crisis.
Lead by the country's most popular child stars Bugoy Carino and Mona Louise Rey, the film intimately
explores the lives of a few of the many people who bully and are being bullied. Insights on how one
behaves in school, how he reacts to situations and how he treats other people are artistically and
dramatically imparted. Each revelation manifests significant life experiences that greatly affect the total
being of an individual. The whole story is presented comically, highly amusing and entertaining for minor
audiences but the message of bullying is duly emphasized and well addressed.
There's always a reason that prompts an individual to behave in such a manner others would hardly
understand, be it good or bad - there's always a story behind every bully and every bullied person.

jerome miles manzano:
"eh, kasi, bata!"
