RULE BASE: FLAMENCO DANCE CONTEST “EUROFERIA 2012”
The EuroFeria is organising a “Flamenco Dance Contest” in the site of the Euroferia Andaluza 2012.
The goal of such contest is to promote this popular art along with the use of typical folk clothes. Further, this
contest aims also to propose to the amateurs a unique opportunity to perform in such emblematic place as the
Atomium in Brussels can be.
This contest is addressed to amateurs (nonprofessional), especially to dancers from flamenco dance
academies and Spanish style dance schools. Dancers are allowed to perform either in “solo” mode or in
groups of maximum 6 persons.
The schedule of the contest will be available on our Website www.euroferia.net, Facebook Oficial Wall
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=298500496901 or on simple email request.
To ensure a smooth run of the contest the following rules base has been established:
FIRST: PARTICIPANTS AND CATEGORIES
- The contest is open to everyone who wants to participate, non-professional, in “solo” mode or in group of
maximum 6 persons in the limit of the categories defined here below.
- Professional dancers or dance teachers are not allowed to participate.
- The jury has the right to deny the access to the contest to all those does not satisfy above prerequisites
- The candidates shall be allowed to participate in only one of the following categories:
- Juvenile: with age limit of twelve.
- Adults: from thirteen and beyond.
- Each participant shall wear typical folk clothes corresponding to the context and the nature of the contest.
- The Jury shall have the right to deny the access to the contest to anyone who does not match either above
prerequisites or clothing requirements
- The enrolment and the participation to the contest implies the total acceptance of the present rule

SECOND: ENROLMENT
- The enrolment to the contest will be done preferably in advance either by email,
telephone, or in very last instance at the Euroferia site (provided free seats are still
available) – Deadline for enrolment is 2 June 2010 at 10:00 AM

- The participants shall communicate their coordinates as follows:
- First and last name of either the solo dancer or the responsible of the group
- Telephone and email
- first name and last name of the participant(s)
- birth date(s)

THIRD: DANCES
- Participants shall perform in “solo” or in group of maximum 6 persons, and shall strictly follow the passage
order established previously by the organization.
- The contest shall be divided in sessions that will be defined taking into account the number of
participants
- Participants shall dance one or several choreographies freely chosen from the different styles (palos) with
the exception of either sevillanas or rumbas.
- Participants or groups will bring their own musical partition (on CD support) on which they want to
perform
- The participants shall be present and ready to perform at the moment communicated to them by the
organization.
- The participant or groups who do(es)n’t respect (his/her) their schedule shall be automatically disqualified
- The Jury shall disqualify any participant who will be considered unfit to perform. The Jury won’t
have to justify his decision.
FORTH : THE JURY
- The Jury will consist in qualified persons designated by the organization and this for the duration of the
event.
- Any Jury’s decision is final and irrevocable.
FIFTH : AWARDS
- the following awards are granted to groups, or participant in case of “solo” performance
1° JUVENIL : 150 EURO AND TROPHEE
2° JUVENIL : 100 EURO AND TROPHEE
3° JUVENIL : 50 EURO AND TROPHEE
1° ADULTS : 300 EURO AND TROPHEE
2° ADULTS : 200 EURO AND TROPHEE
3° ADULTS : 100 EURO AND TROPHEE
- The Jury shall have the possibility to grant special awards if opportune
SIXTH: ACCEPTANCE
- The enrolment and the participation to the contest implies the total acceptance of the present rule
base
- In case of any doubt or dispute raised by a missing aspect or wrong interpretation of the present rule
base, the Organization of the EuroFeria will be competent to take the appropriate decision. Any
decision that will be taken by the Organization shall be irrevocable.
- The non-respect of the present rule base or any inconvenient behaviour will lead to the immediate
exclusion of the participant.
- The organization has the right to modify any clause of this rule base and this without prior notice.
- The organization will also have the ability to modify the schedule of the contest in the case the number of
participants would require it and to close the enrolment process if a maximum number of participants is
reached.
