(2013) Supply of a HVPD Multi™
permanent partial discharge
monitoring system covering the 15 kV
switchboards and associated network
of the Shell Geismar ethylene
production plant in Louisiana. As with
all HVPD monitoring systems, the
supply includes data analysis and
engineer support as part of HVPD's
customer care package with integrated
flags and alarms to immediately inform
the customer of any increasing PD
levels and trends.

(2011 - Present) HVPD have deployed
HVPD Multi™ permanent partial
discharge monitoring technology to
provide remote OLPD monitoring of
10 kV Ex/ATEX motors at the TCO
facility in Kazakhstan. The technology
deploys wideband high frequency
current transformer (HFCT) PD
sensors and monitors located at the
central switchboards at this large
refinery.

(2012 - Present) In cooperation with our
Norwegian Partner, Karsten Moholt AS,
HVPD Multi™ Portable Monitors were
installed on board the ExxonMobil FPSO
Balder, off the coast of Norway. The
monitors provided continuous OLPD
monitoring of the insulation condition of
the stator windings on two recently
repaired 11 kV, 8.2 MW diesel generators
on board the vessel to ensure the repairs
had been successful.

Kazakhstan
(2010 - Present) Annual on-line partial
discharge (OLPD) test and engineering
evaluation surveys have been performed
over 3 years on the 33 kV and 6.6 kV
networks on the Ithaca Beatrice Alpha
offshore platform. The primary purpose of
these projects is to provide annual
trending of the insulation condition of the
platform's critical assets, including
switchgear, subsea cables, motors,
generators and, unusually for the oil and
gas industry, two deep-water offshore
wind turbines.

(2011 - Present) Supply of a HVPD
Multi™ permanent partial discharge
monitoring technology to covering the
entire 11 kV networks on two drilling
vessels. The monitoring system covers
the vessel's entire 11 kV network,
including 6x 7.5 MW diesel generators,
15x transformers, and 6x 5.5 MW
thruster motors along with all
corresponding 11 kV cables and
switchboards.

Gran Canaria

(2013 - Present) HVPD have installed
permanent High Voltage Coupling
Capacitor (HVCC) sensors within both
standard and 'Ex/ATEX' environments
for Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine
Generators, at the ICHP Humber
Refinery site in Hull, England. The
insulation condition of these
generators will then be regularly tested
using the HVPD Longshot™
diagnostic test unit to provide trending
of insulation condition.

(2011 - Present) An OLPD testing and
evaluation survey was performed at
the customer's gas processing facility
at Ras Laffan, Qatar. A range of MV
assets was tested, including
switchgear, cables, steam turbines and
6.6 kV Ex/ATEX motors. The
investigations and tests including an
evaluation pilot project that
demonstrated the efficacy of applying
remote OLPD monitoring of the
Ex/ATEX motors, with HFCT sensors
installed at the facility's central
switchboards.
Qatar

(2011 - Present) Permanent
installation of high current, high
frequency current transformer (HFCT)
OLPD sensors in 13.8 kV, 12 MW
motors for use in the Petrobras Tupi
project. These permanent sensors
enable periodic, diagnostic spottesting to be carried out on these highvalue assets without the need for an
outage.
Brazil
(2011 - Present) Periodic OLPD spottesting and trending of activity within
key assets, including Ex/ATEX motors,
at an ethylene production plant in
Malaysia. Diagnostic measurements
using the HVPD Longshot™ diagnostic
test unit were taken from permanent,
wideband high frequency current
transformer (HFCT) sensors installed
at the central switchboards at the
facility.

(2008 - Present) Regular OLPD and
current signature analysis (CSA)
diagnostic testing and trending of
13.8 kV gas turbine generators &
topside HV compressor motors and
6.6 kV pumps on-board two FPSOs off
the coast of Angola – Greater Plutonio
& PSVM. Local BP engineers have
been trained by HVPD to make regular
trending measurements from
permanently installed sensors using
the HVPD Longshot™ test unit with
data analysis carried out by HVPD.
(2012 - Present) Comprehensive site
survey, including OLPD and Current
Signature Analysis (CSA) testing of the
rotating machines on a number of
offshore drilling platforms as a prelude
to the installation of permanent
continuous OLPD monitoring solutions.
These will monitor the key rotating HV
machine assets on the platforms,
including the 11 kV compressor
motors, drilling motors and 40 MW gas
turbine generators.
Angola
(2012 - Present) HVPD Multi™
Permanent Monitors with Ex/ATEXzone grade HVCC PD sensors are
used to monitor the critical assets at
two of ConocoPhillips' major gas
facilities in Indonesia - the Suban
onshore refining plant and the Belida /
Belanak LGP offshore platforms. This
continuous monitoring system reports
to the central control-centre of the
facilities, to give managers a clearer
understanding of underlying PD
trends.
