Kitty Kat Surveillance Program
Not long ago, most American households
consistently incorporated a very practical ritual into
their bedtime routines. Every night, just before
retiring, the heads of households wound their clocks
and put their cats outside. Every morning, clocks
chimed the waking hour, doors opened, and in
would saunter the cats - lean and mean from a night
on the prowl.
A number of years ago, this ritual was
incorporated as one of the care-giving programs at
Mount Vernon Towers - albeit slight modified to
meet the needs of this modern retirement
community. Here's how to participate. Obtain a Kitty
Kat door-hanger, then just hang your Kitty Kat on the
doorknob outside your door at night before retiring.
Bring Kitty back inside the next morning! Failure to
bring your Kitty Kat door hanger back in will have
someone knocking on your door to make sure you
are OK. The Kitty Kat Surveillance Program is very
popular and successful here at MVT. If you would
like to participate in this Kitty Kat program, please
contact your Floor Rep. Kitties are always available.
Our adorable Kitty Kats are handmade with loving
care - thanks to the Kitty Kat Committee.

Some history about April Fool’s Day
April Fool's Day, also known as All Fools' Day, celebrated on April 1st
every year. Some historians believe the April Fools' customs began in
France, although no one knows for sure. It may stem from a calendar
change in 16th century France -- the moving of New Year's Day from
April 1 to January 1 when the Gregorian calendar was adopted.
People who continued to celebrate New Year's Day on April 1st rather
than the new date of January 1st were referred to as "April fools" and
others played tricks on them.
