Sarah Kristiansen is a photographer and soon-to-be English teacher from Cranston, Rhode Island. She continues to fill her scrapbooks with beautiful photos of her kids, Sam, 12, and Jane, 10.
She’s a full-time college student these days, splitting her time between studying and shooting, and as many date nights as possible
with her husband, TK…that is, if she can stay awake long enough
to eat dinner.
Everyday Photography
with Sarah Kristiansen
Saturday, 12:15-1:45p
Cost: $50
Supplies Needed: In this class you’ll learn by shooting, so bringing your camera is necessary! A pencil for
taking notes will also be useful. *this class is designed for cameras which have manual settings. All DSLRs
will have them, and many point and shoots do as well. Feel free to email me if you want to confirm that your
camera will work with this class!
In this class we’ll explore the basics of DSLR photography. We will begin with the basic workings of the camera: aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, and learn how to shoot outside of that little
green box (yep, that’s the AUTO setting). We will discuss camera gear and the best places to purchase it. We’ll cover how light works, and how to use light to create your best images. We’ll even
touch on the ever-popular camera-phone photography, post-processing, and getting your images
from the camera onto your scrapbook pages and into your albums.

Hello! My name is Nancy Hawes and I’ve always loved anything crafty and creative. When I was a child,
I painted shells and rocks and decoupaged anything that didn’t move. As a teenager, I would sell my
creations in local boutiques and I even added homemade jewelry to my sales. After getting married and
raising four boys, I had the opportunity to further pursue my love for creating and made all sorts of crafts
to be sold at local craft shows. Later on, I landed the display designer position for A.C. Moore where I was
fortunate enough to create all sorts of fun projects. Customers were able to learn all about my projects
through the classes I taught offered by the store. Most recently, I had the opportunity to be apart of the
design team for Imagine Crafts where I had the challenge of coming up with fun techniques and projects
for their customers. My real passion is working with paper, paints, mixed media, stamps and ink so I started teaching in local scrapbooking stores where I taught anything from card making to layouts to canvas or
anything that needs a fresh touch. The best part about teaching, for me, I love is inspiring my students to
try new techniques and to think outside of the box. Recently I joined the Perfect Paint Design Team and I
couldn’t be more excited about it. I just love working with their rich, creamy, shimmery paints and plasters.
The variety of colors just inspire me to create !! I can’t seem to use enough of the bright gold. It is beautiful on everything! I need gallons of it! I hope to inspire you with creative projects that you will be able to
recreate yet add your own spin to your masterpieces. Aside from being on the Perfect Paint Design team I
am currently teaching for Kept Creations in Whitman, Ma . My blog is NancyHawesDesignsblogspot.com.

Cheryl Mezzetti, the founder of Perfect Paints, is an accomplished designer
and mixed media artist who has worked in the art industry for several years.
Formerly, Cheryl functioned as a meticulous Education Director and Design
Team coordinator for Creative Imaginations as well as Splash of Color.
Cheryl’s love of art was evident at a very young age, with strong influences
and encouragement from her mother, aunt and grandmother. At the age of
just five years old, Cheryl shared her “artistic” abilities by painting her kitchen
walls with calamine lotion as if they were a blank canvas! Her love of design,
color and texture only grew from there.
As an instructor, she has taught at a myriad of conventions and specialty
stores throughout the United States, South Africa, Canada and Europe. Her
love of education and passion for Art is mirrored in her unique style of teaching operating as an encouraging, entertaining and inspiring professional who
focuses on attention to detail and perfection. Enrolling within a class led by
Cheryl is undoubtedly a priceless exposure to unique styles of work, as well
as personal development for each student within the subject of expertise.
Perfect Paints was born from Cheryl’s passion to teach both beginners and
advanced students. Formulated in a scrupulous manner so that they adopt
the characteristics of a watercolor, glaze or oil when used with her perfect
fluid mediums, the acrylic paints prove to be like none other. Each of her
Artist acrylics can be used on most surfaces including wood, metal, glass
and even fabric without the need for fabric medium. Cheryl is a perfectionist
and her new paints reflect this by their ease of use, vibrant colors and their
unique ability to be transformed.
Often recognized for her frequent publications in many paper crafting and
mixed media books as well as magazines, each irreplaceable piece offers a
unique insight into Cheryl’s artistic abilities, inspirations, and years of knowledge. As a versatile designer that has turned flea market finds into breathtaking works of art using a variety of mediums, she “believes that each of
us has a passion and a dream that is unique. The best way to succeed at
anything is to discover what we love and share it with others. My dream is
to inspire those around me through teaching and designing,” And she does!
She is also currently a product designer for AccuCut Craft. Cheryl and her
husband, Stephen, live in Massachusetts and have four sons and twin grandsons.
