herein. Test specimen construction was verified by Architectural Testing per the
drawings located in Appendix C. Any deviations are documented herein or on the
drawings.

5.2 Garage Door Description: The door curtain was constructed from 1/4" thick
rubber. The plastic guide end locks were vertically spaced 10" on center on each
side of the curtain and were fastened with two male to female #8-32 pan head
screws. A third male to female #8-32 screw was located at the large end of the
plastic guide end locks. The plastic guide end locks road in the plastic guide rails
that were fitted to the steel jamb tracks. A steel tube reinforcement bar was
located 120" from the head on the interior side of the door. The steel tube had a 3"
diameter with a 1/4" thick wall. The reinforcement bar had a 1-3/8" solid steel
bar weld at each end that secured the roller and sat in the reinforcement guide
track. The reinforcement guide track was made from steel and was 3/32" thick.
Two tie-down straps that were fastened to the head held the reinforcement bar in
location.
5.3 Test Chamber Construction: The door was installed into a steel chamber with
3/8" thick steel tube on one jamb and CMU grout filled block with #4 rebar
reinforcement on the other jamb, (Reference Test Chamber Drawing).
5.4 Installation: The steel jamb tracks were secured to the 3/8" thick steel chamber
jamb with 3" welds located every 24" on both sides of the steel. The other steel
jamb was through bolted to the CMU jamb with 3/8"-16 threaded rod, with a 2"
washer and nut every 24" up the jamb.

6.0 Test Results: The temperature during testing was 26°C (78°F). The results are
tabulated as follows:
