• 2.2 million marriages take place in the United
States annually. That breaks down to about
6,000 a day.
• 25.3 and 27.1 are the estimated U.S. median
ages at first marriage for women and men, respectively, in 2005. The age for women is up 4.3
years in the last three decades. The age for men is
up 3.9 years.
• There are 118 single men (i.e., never married,
widowed or divorced) who are in their 20s for

Originally a body wrap was a treatment where Ace
bandages or plastic wrap was tightly wrapped around
the body to cause quick weight loss through vasodilation. Now a body wrap is more likely to be a treatment
where you’re slathered with a body mask made of algae,
seaweed, mud, clay, lotion or cream, then wrapped for
20 minutes to keep you warm. Later the mask is rinsed
off. The body wrap usually ends with application of
lotion. This treatment is sometimes called a body
cocoon or body mask.
What are the benefits
of a Body Wrap?
Body wraps that use algae, seaweed, mud or clay are
detox treatments that help rid the body of toxins
through metabolic stimulation. Body wraps using shea
butter and rich lotions are hydrating treatments geared
towards softening the skin.

What happens during
a Body Wrap?
At SK Sanctuary your body wrap may begin with an
exfoliating salt scrub. You will lie down on mylar or
linen sheets depending on the type of wrap you will be
having. Once the product is applied, you are wrapped to
stay warm, usually for 20 minutes. The therapist will
stay in the room to give you a scalp or facial massage.
Next, you are unwrapped and the mud or mask is
removed. The therapist will rinse you off with a special
Vichy shower that feels absolutely fabulous. It’s like
taking a shower lying down. Finally, an application of
our Satin lotion will moisturize your skin. Try one of
our luxurious wraps like “Wallow in the Mud”, “It’s a
Wrap”, or “Cocktails Anyone?”
Don’t expect a body wrap to be a massage. You can get
both treatments – body wrap and massage – or look for
our SK Signature treatments that include scrub, body
wrap and massage.
