OVERVIEW
Ca di Pesa is for many the realization of a Tuscan vacation
dream. The house is blessed with an exceptional position with
unspoiled, unfettered views in all directions, a sublime
tapestry view of olive groves, woods and country estates and,
importantly, the prized vineyards of the Conca d'Oro. You
will eat and drink exceptionally well, tour nearby hill-towns
and cultural capitals only when you feel like it and generally
focus on slowing down and appreciating the present moment
with loved ones.
A typically narrow dirt road brings you to Ca di Pesa, where
building was begun approximately one thousand years ago.
In the Medieval period, it evolved into a 'borgo' or small
village, with an interior courtyard and impressive stone
facade. You are enveloped by this timeless setting and
architecture whatever your vantage point at Ca di Pesa.
The current owners of Ca di Pesa invest continually in the
property, improving and refining the experience and
amenities for the benefit of all. Recent improvements
included substantial renovations to the kitchen, the
reconfiguration of some bedrooms and bathrooms to create
suite-like accommodation, and all-new upholstery. The newly
created Library Bar on the First Floor is a choice gathering
place whether as a respite from the heat of a summer's day or
on a cool or damp evening, its open fireplace adding to the
atmosphere.
There are many ways to enjoy the property with plenty of
room to spread out and make the most of long relaxing days
at home, including a child-friendly pool, a bocce pitch and a
cinema. The in-house electronics are up-to-date and air
conditioning has been added to the bedrooms. The owners
are also actively involved in the development of a truly firstrate wine, a small production of such quality it garners rave
reviews. Your Concierge can arrange for a visit and tasting at
the on-site winery during your stay if you like.

The delightful and irreplaceable Anna is the heart of the
house. An exceptional cook who will ensure you leave with an
abiding affection for the simple, fresh cuisine that has made
Italy a justifiably world-famous destination for gourmands of
all stripes. The vegetable garden is being renewed for 2016anticipate picking tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and lettuce;
an idyllic way to begin preparation of your next meal.
Candlelight dinners of Bistecca Fiorentina prepared on the
grill and enjoyed al fresco accompanied by Ca di Pesa's own
exceptional Chianti Classico. Pizza from the antique 'forno',
the wood fire carefully tended all afternoon before the hot
pies hit the courtyard table in the evening.
Like so many, we return again and again to Chianti with
pleasure. On each visit we discover something to enrich our
understanding of this singular region. Some twenty years of
increasing tourism has somehow been absorbed into the
enduring charm of village life without ill effect. People remain
bound to long-standing traditions out of which they create
the fabric of daily life; stopping work at one o'clock for family
lunch at home, Sunday's supper with three or more
generations present, followed by the leisurely stroll around
the piazza. This said, there have been some clear steps
towards embracing Americans on holiday in Tuscany. More
and more restaurants of an increasingly refined style are
taking hold, chic boutiques are filling up ancient piazzas,
many shopkeepers and restaurateurs now speak English. In
the end, these are all welcome improvements making
holidays easier and more enjoyable for visitors.
Ca di Pesa offers all its guests that elusive yet alluring dream
of a Tuscan idyll, long lazy days interrupted by wonderful
meals and equally wonderful wine, stunning landscape views

exceptionally beautiful countryside of Conca d'Oro
vineyards to private gated entrance to Ca di Pesa.
Gravel drive past apple orchard to open parking for
four to six cars. Lower gate for ease of exit.
• Main gathering area in front of house; Front lawn
with extraordinary views of the Pesa Valley. Stone
patio with barbecue and open grill for outdoor
cooking. Bocce court with nearby pergola for pingpong table. Large vegetable garden available for use
by guests. Dining pergola for 18 shaded by awning
and wisteria vines.
• Gate leads to stairs down to fresh-water pool (15 x
7 meters, stairs, retractable cover) with tented
pergola, hammock and additional seating for
lounging in the shade or sun. Pool house with
changing rooms and a full bath, outdoor shower
under overhanging lavender hedge. Expansive views
to the north and east across the owners' vineyards
and olive groves. Sunset bench below pool for
enjoying a view of the vineyard with a glass of Ca di
Pesa wine before dinner.
• Ca di Pesa Winery (available for tastings with a
sommelier by advance reservation, please inquire)
and adjacent farm buildings (used by the owners'
staff who come and go infrequently. Please inquire.)

Passignano. Located on a quiet country road you will pass on
your way to the house, off the 'raccordo' from Florence to
Siena.
• Zip into Panzano Sunday morning and stroll the Market. Be
sure to stop at Verso X Verso for handmade leather goods
and Jeanne Loohuis' Ceramic shop as well.
• A bocce tournament at Ca di Pesa in the afternoon followed
by a tasting of Brunellos and Anna's Bistecca alla Fiorentina.
• Urban Trekking in Volterra is a new and entertaining way to
get to know the extraordinary beauty of this town.
• Meet our guide Antonella for a tour of Siena focused on the
history of the Palio.
• As many days as you like meandering around Chianti. We
will facilitate tours and tastings to under-the-radar wineries
most people miss.
• Guided visit, tasting and lunch in Montalcino at the
wonderful winery Poggio Antico. Lunch is served on the
terrazza immersed in the beautiful countryside.
• Celebration dinner under the pergola at Ca di Pesa. We can
arrange our favorite Italian guitarist and photographer to
capture the evening.
• Ca di Pesa is only 40 minutes to Florence so you can head
in for a morning or afternoon guided cultural walk or a

WHAT TO KNOW
• Candlelight dinners in the cantina are very special and can
be arranged by advance notice for adults only, maximum 14
guests. Ca di Pesa has an antique 'forno a legna' for pizza
nights.
• AC in seven bedrooms and living room is included. House
is comfortable year round with good heating in all the rooms,
some corridors remain cool. Fireplace in living room
functions well. Additional amenities included, please inquire.
• Owners' very highly regarded wine, Chianti and Chianti
Classico Riserva, and extra virgin olive oil available for
purchase in advance of your arrival as well as during your stay.
A tasting in the winery, which is independent from the house,
can be arranged during your stay. Please inquire.
