About United Access
United Access began in 1971 as an
equipment rental company. Gradually,
United Rentals, as it was known then,
moved into the Durable Medical
Equipment business and was renamed
United Medical. After their customers
received their wheelchairs, there was a
time, anyone wishing to transport a
wheelchair user or perhaps even drive on
their own would bring their full-size van
to United Access to have a lift installed.
As the mobility industry developed,
United Access owners, Richard & Karyn May
United Medical evolved along with it. In
1997, United Medical was divided into
three separate companies, United Seating and Mobility for wheelchairs and other
equipment, a residential elevator company (no longer in business) and United Access
specializing in the mobility industry adapting vehicles for those with disabilities.

Home Accessibility Stair Lifts
BraunAbility
Harmar
BraunAbility wheelchair vans offer the ultimate in convenience, safety, quality and
reliability to give you freedom and mobility. With power doors and ramps, lowered
floor conversions, and removable front seats, you can take your pick from the most
popular wheelchair accessible vans on the market.
The stairs we take for granted most of our lives often become the primary reason that
seniors or persons with disabilities lose access to different levels of their home or may
even be forced to move from their home. Harmar’s comprehensive array of solutions are
designed to improve accessibility, including a wide range of stair lifts to fit any stair case.
Dodge/Chrysler CompanionVan SE
The CompanionVan SE provides wheelchair van
accessibility in a streamlined, economical package.
This wheelchair accessible vehicle is a great choice
for wheelchair users who consistently travel with an
assistant. Or, if you’re ambulatory, this wheelchair
minivan is a great way of easily and quickly storing
your wheelchair or scooter inside the vehicle. The
SE features a lowered floor from the rear of the front
seats to the rear bench seat, allowing space for one
wheelchair or scooter. If you’re looking for a budgetfriendly solution for your mobility, this innovative
conversion could be the answer.
Harmar Pinnacle Premium Stair Lift
The Pinnacle is the true essence of an affordable and
necessary luxury. The slimmest and most lightweight
stair lift on the market, it folds to take just 11” of
staircase width.
Honda Odyssey Entervan
The Honda Odyssey Entervan combines excellent
accessibility and convenience with Honda’s reliability
and segment-leading fuel economy. It’s safer than
ever with an extremely strong body structure and,
like all Entervan conversions, includes a power
sliding door, automated slotted fold-out ramp,
removable front seats and power kneel system.
Pinnacle’s patented helical worm gear drive system
requires less energy to operate and can make up to
40 trips should the power go out. The unique drive
system does not require any messy greases
or lubricants!
United Access is the #1 BraunAbility Mobility Dealer in
Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Texas and New Mexico!
4
Although exceptionally compact, the Pinnacle
boasts a 350 lb. weight capacity with a wide,
comfortable seat that swivels at the top landing
to aid in safely entering and exiting the lift. Safety
sensors prevent the lift from running if the seat is not
in the proper position or if something is blocking the
stairway or track.
Harmar Alpine II Standard Stair Lift
The Alpine II offers quality and durability while still
maintaining its affordability. A host of small details,
from upholstery stitching to the plastic components
and folding arms, add up in this stair lift. Soft Start
and Soft Stop moves the rider effortlessly between
levels. With a 350 lb. weight capacity, the Alpine is
an economical alternative to the Pinnacle Premium
Stair Lift.
The folding rail option saves space and lessens trip hazards at bottom of the staircase.

Driving Evaluation
United Access requires all new hand control clients to be evaluated by a Certified
Driving Rehabilitation Specialist. This ensures that the client is physically and
cognitively capable of operating a motor vehicle, and ensures that the client is
prescribed the appropriate driving devices for his or her unique needs and abilities.
There are two typical parts to a driving evaluation; a clinical assessment and an on
the road assessment. To be eligible for an on the road assessment a client must be 16
years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license or temporary permit, and be one year
seizure free or have a medical physician release.
Clinical Driving Evaluation
The clinical driving evaluation is done by a CDRSCertified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist or a
Therapist with a background in drivers education.
During this evaluation a CDRS will:
• Review client’s medical charts
• Perform a vision test
• Test client’s cognition, range of motion,
A simulated driving assessment
can occur before an on the road
assessment is performed and may
also be used for further education
and training.
24
strength, reaction time, etc.
At this point, the CDRS will determine if an on the
road examination or further training is necessary.
Dodge Grand Caravan & Chrysler Town
and Country Entervan II
This wheelchair van conversion is easy to operate
and offers a spacious interior, and 52” door opening.
The one touch power entry and exit system includes
a power sliding side door, a power ramp, and a
power auto-kneel system to reduce the ramp
angle and make the van easier to enter and exit for
wheelchair or scooter users.
Dodge Grand Caravan & Chrysler Town
and Country Entervan XT
The Entervan XT is the perfect mobility solution for
individuals who sit higher in their wheelchairs. With
over 56” of clearance through the sliding door - a full
four inches more than the standard Entervan - this
conversion makes it easier for many wheelchair
users to enter and exit the vehicle. Up to 61” of
interior clearance provides extra headroom and
greater visibility.
On the Road Examination
During an on the road examination the CDRS will
evaluate a client’s abilities while using different types
of driving devices, like hand controls. During this
assessment, the CDRS will also determine if further
training on the adaptive equipment is necessary.
Toyota Sienna Rampvan XT
The Toyota Sienna offers accessibility and
convenience in a sporty, streamlined package. With
56” of headroom the Sienna makes for comfortable
entry and egress. The one touch power entry and
exit system includes a power sliding side door, a
power folding ramp, and a power auto-kneel system
to reduce the ramp angle and make the van easier to
enter and exit for wheelchair or scooter users.
United Access has cultivated great relationships with
Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialists in all of
our markets over the past 20 years. It is important
to us that each potential driver be evaluated for
the safety of the individual, as well as, the safety of
the other drivers on the road. If you are interested
in becoming a driver United Access can put you in
contact with a Driver Evaluator in your local area.
Toyota Sienna Rampvan Xi
BraunAbility’s in-floor ramp option stows away
neatly under the floor, allowing obstacle-free entry
and egress for ambulatory passengers. The easy
ramp angle and added side rail security makes
accessibility a breeze. Add to that the sleek new and
improved Step-and-Roll seating, and this is another
first class mobility option on a world-class chassis.

Side Entry Minivan Conversions
VMI—Vantage Mobility International
Electronic Driving Controls
From the very beginning, VMI has been driven by one simple philosophy: Innovation
and dedication will ultimately lead to a better quality wheelchair accessible van, and a
better quality of life for our customers. Their efforts have produced the most reliable,
highest quality and most easily accessible wheelchair vans in the world.
United Access is a certified installer of Electronic
Mobility Controls. EMC manufactures a variety of
primary “drive-by-wire” control options designed
to operate the gas, brake, and steering controls
of a motor vehicle. Today, EMC manufactures one
single control system, AEVIT 2.0. With the new AEVIT
technology, more than ten different control input
devices are available to meet your needs. The AEVIT
primary driving control system provides a low-effort
control solution for operation of the factory gas,
brake, and steering controls. A variety of unique
interfaces to the control system are available and can
be mounted nearly anywhere in the driver’s area of
the vehicle. Whether you require gas and brakes, or
just steering, there’s an AEVIT system for you!
VMI’s Northstar offers 9” more
floor room than other conversions
on the market today
VMI’s Summit Conversion boasts
a wheelchair ramp weight capacity
of 750 lbs.
VMI Toyota Sienna—Northstar & Summit
Conversions
The Toyota Sienna with either a VMI Northstar or
Summit Conversion is vehicular perfection for
people living with disabilities. With a power in-floor
ramp and over 57” of headroom in the Northstar
conversion, or a power fold-out ramp with 2” side
rails in the Summit conversion, this vehicle offers the
most wheelchair access in a flexible package. And
like everything from Toyota, the quality and value
are unmatched. There is more entry space, more
interior height, and better aesthetics. It all adds up
to a wheelchair van that offers flexibility, ease of use,
and safety.
VMI Dodge Grand Caravan & Chrysler Town and
Country —Northstar & Summit Conversions
If you prefer an American made vehicle, then a
VMI Northstar or Summit Chrysler/Dodge is the
conversion for you. These vehicles include a power
fold-out ramp in the Summit Conversion and a

Hand Controls & Driving Aids
Mechanical Driving Controls
United Access offers many different types of Mechanical Hand Controls from
manufacturers including MPS Corporation, Mobility Products & Design, Sure Grip,
Wells Engnberg, Drive-Master, Menox, Veigel & more. Our Mobility Technicians are
trained and certified to install and service driving controls from every industry leading
manufacturer. United Access requires a driving evaluation from each new client before
installing driving controls. See page 24.
Right Angle Hand Controls
Through mechanical linkage, the brakes are applied by the forward motion away from the driver
toward the brake pedal or dashboard. Again with
mechanical linkage, the gas or accelerator is applied
by a downward movement toward the driver’s lap
and at a right angle to the brake. Designed with a flat
handle and an accelerator rod that fits behind the
dash panel, it is the least intrusive Hand Control on
the market today.
Push/Rock Hand Controls
The push/rock hand control enables the driver to
apply the accelerator and brakes by hand. When
the upright handle is pushed forward toward the
brake pedal the brakes are applied. When the
upright handle is rocked rearward toward the user
the accelerator is applied. It also comes with an
accelerator lock-out feature for added safety. This
popular style is a favorite recommendation of many
driving evaluators.
Push/Pull Hand Controls
The push/pull hand control operates by pushing
down toward the floor or dashboard to apply the
brake, and by pulling back towards the operator for
acceleration. The push/pull hand control is available
with an upright handle or standard handles to
custom fit you and your specific driving needs.

VMI Honda Odyssey—Northstar & Summit Conversion
To satisfy the need for additional interior space and a clean, obstruction-free accessible
vehicle interior, VMI pioneered the development of the Northstar in-floor wheelchair
ramp system for the Honda Odyssey minivan. The Northstar wheelchair ramp simply
rolls out from beneath the floor, which lends to simple entry and egress. The Honda
Odyssey with a VMI Northstar Conversion creates more wheelchair maneuvering space
than any other premium minivan on the market today.
The Summit fold-out ramp conversion on the Honda
Odyssey is a basic, economical alternative to VMI’s
best-selling Northstar in-floor ramp system. Foldout wheelchair ramps sit inside the vehicle cabin
and extend outward when deployed. The Summit
fold-out ramp conversions include 2” ramp side rails,
which are ideal for those customers who sometimes
have difficulty navigating their ramps.

& L-Track
Q’Straint 4-Point Securement
Systems
Each component is designed,
engineered and tested to work as
one cohesive system. In the event
of a collision or sudden stop, the
system isolates the forward forces
of the occupant from those of their
chair by directing the chair’s forces
to the vehicle floor. A complete
4-Point System includes:
• 4 Wheelchair Restraints: for
securing the wheelchair to the
floor of the vehicle.
Q’Straint Retractable Tie-Downs, with occupant securements
• Occupant Securements: a lap and shoulder belt
for securing the occupant.
• Floor Anchorages: a track system for anchoring
the wheelchair restraints.
Manual Tie-Downs
The M-Series is an economical manual securement
system to help meet minimum specifications
and cost-conscious budgets without sacrificing
safety. Even with the use of manual tie-downs, the
wheelchair must be secured by 4 restraints to meet
safety standards.
Q’Straint Retractable Tie-Downs
L-Track
L-Track is the most widely used floor anchorage
in the transportation industry due to its flexibility
in accommodating various wheelchair positions.
Q’Straint also uses a different alloy to provide you
with superior strength and corrosion resistance.

Wheelchair Securement Devices
Wheelchair Docking Systems
Ford Transit Connect Wheelchair Van
Wheelchair Docking Systems provided by EZ Lock and Q’Straint are a hassle-free
and safe alternative to manual tie-down systems. Advanced electronics ensure the
wheelchair is correctly locked in place and can be easily released with the push of a
button located on the vehicle’s dashboard. Docking devices are the ideal solution
for any driver* or passenger who wishes to easily secure their wheelchair without
any assistance.
The Ford Transit Connect wheelchair van is a unique option for wheelchair accessible
transportation. The ADA Compliant rear entry option is both a practical and
economical way to enter and exit the vehicle. This spacious mobility vehicle can fit up
to 5 people and 1 wheelchair user comfortably, which makes it the ideal vehicle for
families and organizations that are looking to travel in style and comfort. The design
of the rear tumble seats that fold forward not only allows there to be a wheelchair
accessible area of 31” wide by 50” long, but also makes transitioning from one set-up
to the next convenient and simple.
EZ Lock BL-7317 Docking Base
The EZ Lock system can accommodate a wide array
of wheelchair styles, including both manual and
power wheelchairs. A bracket is mounted to the
underneath of the wheelchair and electronically
locks into the base. EZ Lock’s electronics have a
reputation for dependability. The touchpad control
has a variety of clearly visible indicators to monitor
the docking status of the wheelchair, an audible
alarm, and large back-lit buttons for release and
system deactivation.
Q’Straint QLK-100 Independent Docking System
The QLK-100 wheelchair docking system is the
perfect solution for wheelchair passengers who
drive their own vehicles and for those who want
the independence of quickly securing their own
wheelchair using a single point system. The QLK-100
is engineered for reliability and based on the proven
design of truck and trailer hitches which have been
safely used for over half a century.
*A wheelchair user who operates a vehicle while remaining
seated in their wheelchair must use a docking device rather
than traditional tie-down systems.
20
This fuel efficient wheelchair van delivers 22 MPG city
and 25 MPG highway and combines this great fuel
economy with affordability as well. With the savings
you see in fuel consumption and having the rear entry
feature on the vehicle, you could have the freedom
to go to more places and do the things that you have
always wanted to do.
Not only are these vehicles economically impressive,
they also meet the crash test and safety requirements
set forth by all federal regulations and state DOT
requirements. As a member of the National Mobility
Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) and their
Quality Assurance Program (QAP), United Access is
able to offer you peace of mind by knowing you are
being provided a safe and affordable wheelchair van
that meets all of our customers’ needs.

Pick-Up Truck Conversions
Why drive a wheelchair accessible minivan when
United Access has accessible trucks from Mobility
SVM & Ryno Mobility? Wheelchair users have been
restricted to an accessible van conversion for years.
Now manufacturers have innovated accessible truck
conversions that make the “off road” dream a reality.
Mobility SVM
Mobility SVM offers conversions
for both the driver and passenger
side of the pickup truck.
The Mobility SVM pickup truck conversion allows the
wheelchair user to drive or ride from their wheelchair
in the cab of the truck. Previously, pickup truck
conversions did not allow for the wheelchair user to
remain in their chair, but rather required a transfer
onto a mobility seat for entry and egress from the
vehicle. Not any more! With the Mobility SVM, the
wheelchair user simply drives onto the platform lift
and is elevated into the cab of the truck where they
can enjoy the functionality of a wheelchair accessible
vehicle with the style of a Chevrolet or GMC full size
pickup truck.
Ryno Mobility
Ryno Mobility has been the leader in accessible
truck conversions for years. The Ryno MEGA has the
functionality of a minivan, but the personality, hauling
capacity and towing capacity of a truck. The MEGA
conversion has a center lowered floor with a driver
transfer seat. All conversions come with remote control
power door and lift, running boards, suspension and
body lift, and slim line two person rear bench seat.
There are many options to personalize your vehicle,
whether it be a contractor, farmer, rural area or
someone that is tired of the same conversions, Ryno
Mobility has a solution for you.
