lhambra Season Partners & Guests,
When we first bought the Alhambra I can
honestly tell you that the first show I wanted
to do was Beauty and the Beast, after all I
had a 10-year-old daughter. I even wanted to
create a jingle to the tune "Be Our Guest"–
it’s that kind of welcome we want you to have
when you arrive here. It’s taken a few years for
Disney to give us the rights to the show, but I
couldn’t be more excited about it.
It’s no secret that I love our summer family productions. It brings us all
such incredible joy and warmth to see the theater filled with generations
of smiles and laughter. Nothing makes me feel better about coming to
work every day than knowing that we will be graced with a building
filled with kids – and those young at heart! Thank you for being part of
that joy.
I also want to thank the good folks at Snyder Heating & Air Conditioning
for their support of Beauty and the Beast. This is their second year as
presenting sponsor of the summer show, and we are grateful for their
support. Ed, Michelle and the rest of the Snyder crew (including Snyder
Man), take as much pride in this show as we do. We’ll take some smiles
on the road too, as the cast and Snyder Man go downtown to visit the
children’s hospitals!
We are also excited to be joined by the folks at Theatre on a Mission,
who will be collecting school supplies during the run of Beauty and
the Beast and then taking those goodies to Kenya where they help
educate children through theater. On June 20, they will be hosting their
own fundraiser here at the Alhambra. If you’re interested you can find
information on their website at www.theatreonamission.org.
The rest of the summer is shaping up to be a good one with Smokey
Joe’s Café opening in July, followed by Sister Act and then the return
of Hank and His Honky Tonk Heroes with Jason Petty playing Hank
Williams.
I hope to see you often and thank you for being our guest tonight!
Regards,
Craig

Arlington YMCA Now Open
15
The YMCA of Florida’s First Coast relocated the
Arlington YMCA to the Boleros Cultural Arts
Center at 10131 Atlantic Boulevard in Jacksonville.
The new YMCA location on Atlantic is quadruple
the space of the prior facility on Merrill Road,
and allows the Arlington YMCA to offer new
programming in the areas of youth development,
healthy living and social responsibility. Renovations to the facility
were made in order to fully utilize the space, including new signage
to mark the location.
The Arlington YMCA’s family program center remains based at 8301
Fort Caroline Road, while the wellness center relocated from Merrill
Road to the new facility on Atlantic Boulevard.
The Arlington YMCA continues the tradition started by Boleros in
offering rehearsal space for Alhambra Theatre and Dining. Join us
in welcoming the YMCA to their new facility, and thanking them for
supporting The Alhambra.

third production- after playing Tiny Tim

Irish dancing, basketball and gymnastics.
Harrison would like to thank Tod, Jason, and everyone at the
Alhambra for this opportunity. He also appreciates his family,
friends, and dance teachers for their support.
Kenneth Uibel* MONSIEUR D'ARQUE
As a fan of Vincent Price and Christopher

of the creepier characters that he is known
for. His most famous roles at the Alhambra

In reality, Ken is a very nice (and not at all scary) family man

asylum… we mean theater, again.
