traits of those European regions. Petropolis originated and developed as the imperial city, since it was the
favourite of monarch Pedro II, who spent the summers there, in order to avoid the heat of Rio de Janeiro.
Petropolis has several attractions, such as the Imperial Museum, former summerplace of the royal family,
containing a great collection of objects and Pedro II's imperial
crown (fashioned with 5 lb. of gold and encrusted with hundreds of pearls, diamonds and emeralds), the Crystal
Palace, Sao Pedro de Alcantara Cathedral and parks and gardens.

It is located on the hillside of the São José Mountain Range and it is known for its historical and cultural value. The
city received the name of Tiradentes, the main character in the Inconfidência Mineira, a political movement that
fought for Brazilian independence from Portuguese rule. Its architecture preserves the Baroque beauty, sculpted
on big houses, façades, churches and homes with their colonial shingles and adobe walls.
In the churches, the baroque art can be seen on altars and images sculpted by artisans. On its stone streets,
where slaves, farmers and explorers have strolled, until today there are processions and religious celebrations
such as Holy Week and the Holy Trinity Jubilee (Jubileu da Santíssima Trindade).
Besides all this baroque richness spread throughout the city, Tiradentes also offers its visitors the natural beauties
of the São José Mountain Range, with its waterfalls and beautiful view of the city.

As the rest of Minas Gerais cities, Congonhas it's full of history, located in a valley and surrounded by impressive
mountains, today the city feeds the soul of those who wish to relive a golden era. The architectonic and artistic
complex of the Bom Jesus dos Matosinhos Basílica was recognized as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by
UNESCO in 1985. The city was also the birthplace of the Marist works in Brazil. Congonhas do Campo was an
important mining center and large fortunes were extracted from it. Some of the gold nuggets taken from the mine
called Bataeiro (Potato Field) were the size of potatoes. In 1796, the power of the gold brought the already
renowned sculptor, Aleijadinho, to the then district called Congonhas. And there he left for posterity the most
concrete manifestation of the grandiosity of his art. The city also became famous in the 1960s because of the
cures being performed by the medium called Zé Arigó, who incorporated the spirit of the German doctor, Fritz.
People from every corner of Brazil and all over the world converged upon Congonhas in search of healing.

Casa do Baile, inaugurated in 1943, is part of the architectural ensemble of Lagoa da Pampulha, designed by
architect Oscar Niemeyer. In 1946, the House of Dance closed the doors when gambling was prohibited in Brazil.
The building stands on an artificial island and has a picturesque bridge of 11 meters. It draws special attention by
the sinuous forms of facades, almost suggesting a continuity of the pond.
Reopened in 2002 respecting the initial landscape project designed by Burle Marx and coordinated by Oscar
Niemeyer.

Today you will experience an unforgettable panoramic view of the natural wonder of Iguazu: The Brazilian Falls
were declared Natural World Heritage by the UNESCO and are located on the western side of the Paraná State in
Brazil. This Brazilian park with 185,000 hectares borders the Argentinean National Park and they are divided by
the Iguazu River. Both parks make this region one of the largest natural protected areas in South America. The
tour starts at the visitors’ center, designed to be the access to the park. In order to be able to start the circuits
along the catwalk floors, visitors take one of the modern panoramic view busses to move safely within the park.
The length of the catwalk floors is 1,200 meters from where you can get a breathtaking view of the 275 waterfalls.
The four main rapids on the Brazilian side are: Floriano, Deodoro, Benjamín Constant and Salto Unión. At the end
of the path everyone will get on a panoramic elevator that will take them to the bus units.
