Summer 2016 Week Camps
Summer 4-on-4 Hockey League (9501)
The Dartmouth Whalers Minor Hockey Association (DWMHA), in conjunction with
the Dartmouth Sportsplex (DSP) is proud to offer the 4-on-4 Hockey League on
Saturdays for the summer of 2016! This fun league focuses on playing great
hockey over the summer while achieving skill development in an instructional play
environment.
Players participate at the age group they are going into for the 2016/17 hockey
season. All division levels are listed on our website and follow a strict “No Checking”
policy.
All 4-on-4 Hockey League players receive a league jersey with our cool logo to keep!
Please note the IP program consists mainly of instructional activities vs. league play.
Players from all associations are welcome. Coaches will be on the bench to instruct
players. Contact us for more information!

Midget 5-on-5 Hockey League (9501-6)
We are introducing a 5-on-5 format on Sundays this
summer, aimed at players who wish to try out for
competitive hockey this coming season (Midget, Major Midget, High
School and Junior). Open to ages 15 to 19, this will be a full-contact
league; in order to participate, players must complete a Hockey Nova
Scotia approved checking course. All coaches and officials will be
certified.
Prospective teams for the coming season will be in
attendance at any given time.
Our summer hockey school provides an opportunity for development and preparation
for the upcoming hockey season. Players will participate in conditioning sessions
on and off the ice, focusing on everything from puck-and-stick handling to power
skating, as well as high-level goaltender training from elite goal tending instructors.
DWMHA’s team of development coaches will challenge participants to set personal
goals and help them put together a plan to achieve them. Don’t forget the popular
dip in the pool to cool things off!

Almost everyone in the world could benefit from being stronger. Whether you want to
gain strength, endurance, muscle tone or muscle mass, this class will get you there! One
of the best ways to achieve this is with free weight exercise, but this can be very tricky,
and potentially dangerous if not done properly. In this class, we will discuss the common
mistakes, correct technique, program design and more... and of course, we will train!
Yoga and running (Walkers welcome) combined to make this summer
running clinic a must to do on your list of programs. Physically challenging,
but suitable for all levels. Combining yoga poses to enhance your overall
running performance. Improve breathing and cardiovascular
endurance, increase flexibility of the spine,
quads, hips and hamstrings. Strengthen and
stabilize the muscles around the joints. Yoga
poses to help improve or correct postural
alignment. Mobility exercises to improve
ankles and feet, combined with CHI running
techniques. The clinic will be dedicated to
running/walking segments and yoga. Class takes place outside - bring a
