SAVORING THE EXPERIENCE
One of the wonderful things about vacations is the time we spend
two or three weeks afterward savoring the experience, sharing vacation
photos and memories with our family and friends. This kind of
reflection puts us back in touch with the original experience and
reminds us of the relaxation and wonder the vacation afforded us.
Today, on the Third Sunday of Easter, the Church blesses us with
reminders of what we celebrated two Sundays ago. All three readings
are reflections on the meaning of the death and resurrection of Christ.
One of the threads running through these reflections is that the purpose
of the Lord’s suffering, death, and resurrection was to save us, to
forgive our sins. We are given fifty days to ponder this reality—fifty
days to savor the experience of Christ’s dying and rising for us.

married in the Catholic Church ... godparents need letters of
recommendation from their parish that they are practicing
Catholics ... as you know, godparents are models of the faith and
so need to be practicing the faith ... speak with one of the priests
for additional information about certificates, classes and dates.

in mystagogy for us all. Jesus’ place in salvation history is
recounted by Saint Peter in the first reading and interpreted by
Jesus himself in the Gospel passage. Like students who sit at the
feet of their master, let us gather around the table of God’s word,
asking God to open our hearts and minds to a renewed sense of the
meaning of the paschal mystery in our lives.

GOD’S WORD TODAY
The Easter season is a time of mystagogy.
Mystagogy is an ancient word that simply means
“unfolding the mysteries.” During the Easter
season, the Church unfolds the mysteries of
Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection so that
the newly baptized, along with the entire
community of believers, can grasp more fully the
Last weekend in the gym proved to be a
great time! The group participated in
games and activities that focused on
teamwork, communication, positive reinforcement, and just having fun! Following
each of the activities, we discussed our roles
in the activity - some were leaders, listeners, supporters, and creative thinkers.
Then, we related those roles to the students' roles in their friend groups, family,
and relationship with God. How do they
interact with God and others- perhaps they
take initiative, are the good listener, or step
out of their comfort zone. Next weekend, we
will talk about our relationship with God
in moments of happiness, brokenness,
questioning, and loneliness. The group
will complete an art project that reflects
their brokenness and happiness as portrayed on the cross. The final project will be
something the high school students can see
as a reminder of the love that comes from
Christ's brokenness on the cross.

registración .. algunas clases están llenas --- se le anima a no

CLASE ESPECIAL DE BAUTISMO ... para los padres y los
estudiantes en el programa de educación religiosa que serán
bautizados próximamente.. la clase se llevará a cabo en la iglesia el
domingo, 19 de abril a las 1:30 pm ... los padres, padrinos y los
niños deben estar presentes en la última clase y práctica con
Monseñor Graham ... todo el papeleo, permisos, recomendaciones
deben ser entregados a la Hermana Adelina --- si no tenemos todos
los documentos el bautismo se pospondrá ... por favor, no se
decepcione sino tenga toda su documentación completa!
EN ESPAÑOL ... la Hermana Eleazar estará ofreciendo clases de
español en diferentes temas de fe para los adultos ... los sábados a
las 7 pm en la Salón Flynn ... las clases para adultos comienzan el
28 de febrero ... todos están invitados ... las fechas futuras son 28
de marzo, 25 de abril, 30 de mayo y 13 de junio ... una gran
oportunidad para la educación de adultos en la fe ... Ver a la

MISA EN ESPAÑOL .... el miércoles, 29 de abril a las 7 PM será
en la IGLESIA DE ABAJO debido a la Práctica de Primera
Comunión en la Iglesia Superior ... por favor marquen sus
calendarios para el cambio de ubicación ... también el viernes, 15
de mayo la misa de las 7 PM será en la Iglesia de Abajo a causa de
la Misa de Graduación de la Escuela Secundaria de Chicos ... por
favor marquen su calendarios también.
REUNION DEL CONSEJO PARROQUIAL ... el lunes, 27 de
abril a las 7:30 pm en la Salón Flynn ... todos los miembros deben
estar presentes ... visitantes son bienvenidos.
PARQUEO ... por favor sea cortés ... no use dos espacios ... no
bloquear otros coches ... ambos parqueos están abiertos --- en

COMO SIEMPRE ... un recordatorio acerca de llegar temprano --o al menos, a tiempo — para la misa … Jesús merece toda nuestra
atención desde el principio de la misa hasta el final … a tiempo
para las misas a las 8 am, 9 am, 10:30 am, 12 del mediodía y 4:30
pm.
BAUTIZOS … se celebran durante cada mes aquí en San Ramón
en Inglés y en Español ... los padres deben estar registrados como
miembros practicantes de la parroquia ... padrinos deben ser
bautizados, haber recibido la Primera Comunión y la Confirmación
y, si es casado, casado en la Iglesia Católica ... los padrinos
necesitan cartas de recomendación de su parroquia para confirmar
que son católicos practicantes ... como ustedes saben, los padrinos
son modelos de la fe y así tienen que ser practicante de la fe ...
hablar con uno de los sacerdotes para obtener información
adicional acerca de los certificados, clases y fechas.
LA PALABRA DE DIOS HOY
El tiempo de Pascua es un tiempo de mistagogia.
Mistagogia es una palabra antigua, que simplemente
significa “iniciar o introducir en los misterios”.
Durante el tiempo de Pascua la Iglesia despliega los
misterios de la pasión, muerte y resurrección de
Cristo a fin de que los recién bautizados, así como
toda la comunidad de creyentes, puedan entender
más de lleno el significado del misterio pascual. Las
Escrituras de hoy nos ofrecen a todos nosotros una lección de
mistagogia. El lugar de Jesús en la historia de la salvación lo recuenta
san Pedro en la primera lectura y lo interpreta el mismo Jesús en el
pasaje del Evangelio. Como los estudiantes que se sientan a los pies de
su maestro, reunámonos alrededor de la mesa de la Palabra de Dios y
pidámosle que abra nuestro corazón y nuestra mente para tener un
sentido renovado del significado del misterio pascual en nuestra vida.
SACRAMENTO DEL MATRIMONIO ... los católicos deben estar
casados en la Iglesia Católica con el sacramento del matrimonio y
una misa ... hablar con uno de los sacerdotes para planear su
boda ... si usted no está casado en la Iglesia Católica, hablar con el
Padre Brogan sobre la posibilidad de matrimonio en la Iglesia a
través de un proceso de convalidación.
SERVICIOS FUNERALES … ¿cuáles son sus deseos? … planes
funerarios deben hacerse de manera que cuando usted muera serán
honrados sus deseos ... los arreglos funerarios usuales incluyen un
velorio en una funeraria, misa en la iglesia y el entierro en un
cementerio católico ... cremación es generalmente después de la
misa funeraria con el entierro de las cenizas poco después (no se
mantienen en la casa) ... ¿cuáles son sus deseos?
CELEBRACIÓN DEL MATRIMONIO... el domingo, 14 de junio
en la misa de las 9 am en Español y en la misa de las 12 del
mediodía en Inglés vamos a honrar a aquellos que están celebrando
sus aniversarios de boda de matrimonio en la Iglesia Católica ...
por favor complete el siguiente cupón y volver a la rectoría o poner
en la canasta de la colecta y un pergamino especial será preparado
para usted ... que se le presentará en la Misa.
SABOREA LA EXPERIENCIA
Una de las cosas maravillosas sobre las vacaciones es que después
de nuestro regreso nos pasamos dos o tres semanas saboreando la
experiencia, compartiendo las fotos y recuerdos con nuestra familia y
amistades. Esta clase de reflexión nos vincula nuevamente a la
experiencia original y nos hacer volver a vivir el descanso y las
maravillas que la vacación nos proporcionó. Hoy, el Tercer Domingo
de Pascua, la Iglesia nos da la bendición de unos recordatorios de lo
que celebramos hace dos domingos. Las tres lecturas son reflexiones
del significado de la muerte y resurrección de Cristo. Uno de los hilos
que unen a estas reflexiones es que el propósito del sufrimiento, la
muerte y la resurrección del Señor fue para salvarnos y perdonar
nuestros pecados. Tenemos cincuenta días para contemplar esta
realidad –cincuenta días para saborear la experiencia de la muerte y
resurrección de Cristo por nosotros.
