“The food, the crew and the yacht itself all exceeded my expectations. Cynthia the chef
was incredible no matter what meal she put together…
the best crew I have ever seen and I have been on many boats... They all seem to know and
like each other which is important…
and Gary was a wonderful captain.”
“The jet skis were well kept, the tender was beautiful and could seat 10... as well as
the twin 300's were a great touch.
The master cabin had plenty of room. with lots of space, and draws...the showers in all
the bedrooms had a lot of pressure which is great...
The boat was always very clean and the laundry was done each day.
The trip was flawless. I will be using you again soon, and maybe even some of my
friends on the boat. Thanks again.”

Captain – Gary Bush
New Zealander
Previous Yachts
Interests:
M/Y BEVERLEY (34m)
Golf, ski and rugby
Gary’s early years were spent on the family sheep farm in the central part of the North Island of New Zealand. It was when
the family moved to the coastal town of Tauranga when he was a teenager that he discovered his love for the ocean.
Weekends, and some school days, were spent fishing, diving, water-skiing and on the beach. Despite this, Gary managed
to train as a Civil Engineer which he combined with a career as a professional rugby player. He is used to performing
physically and mentally at his best. Gary travelled around the world playing rugby in Australia, Canada, Italy, and France.
It was during the off-season while he was in Europe playing rugby that Gary discovered the Mediterranean yachting
industry. Starting his new career at the bottom, Gary worked his way up to be a Captain, a position he has held for several
years on several different yachts. He now has a sound knowledge of the Mediterranean and Caribbean to ensure guests
visit the best anchorages and see the best sights.
Gary’s previous yacht was a sistership to RED ANCHOR on which he served for 6 years, BEVERLEY. He was initially part of
the owner’s build team prior to construction commencing and then he oversaw the entire construction from start to finish.
He therefore has the benefit of a very thorough knowledge of Benetti Classic yachts.
His enthusiasm, energy, quick and witty humour and can-do attitude are highly appreciated by the clients as feedback has
shown. Gary is a keen golfer and skier when he gets the opportunity and still enjoys watching rugby. He maintains a home
and family in Antibes, South of France. 2016 will be Gary's 6th season on board RED ANCHOR!
