Once you have decided on a course, please
fill in an application form.* Download the form

Email the completed application form to the
International Officer

Step 2
The application form, together with all the other
supporting documents and information on
your qualifications is passed to the respective
academic department for consideration.
Upon successful application a PROVISIONAL
LETTER is sent out from Threshold Services
with a request for an initial deposit of at least
50% of the tuition fees.
You MUST contact the International Officer
or Accommodation Officer if student
accommodation is required.

Upon receipt of the deposit a CAS
(Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies)
number will be issued. The college will also
provide a letter which gives details of the
course, start dates and the duration. The CAS
Number should be submitted to the British
Embassy or High Commission when applying
for a student visa. You will also need bank
statements and proof that you can support
yourself in the UK.

Havering College is located in East London on
the border of Essex and is just 20 minutes by
train to central London and the Olympic Village
in Stratford.
The college has 4 campuses; Ardleigh Green,
Quarles, Rainham Construction Centre and
The Lanes Hair and Beauty, Brentwood.
Ardleigh Green Campus
Ardleigh Green is located between the towns
of Hornchurch and Romford.
Romford is an entertainment hub and a historic
market town, which has a large shopping
centre, restaurants, cinema, bowling alley, ice
rink, library, sports and recreational facilities.
It also has excellent transport connections to
London and the surrounding areas.

Quarles is situated in Harold Hill and is a 20
minute bus ride from the centre of Romford and
is only a short distance from a local shopping
centre. Harold Hill features many open spaces
which are ideal for walking and the area is also
home to Central Park and the Central Park
Leisure Centre.
Rainham Campus Construction
Centre
Our Construction Centre is a dedicated facility
that delivers high level training in all areas of
Construction Crafts. It can be easily reached
by bus and is a short walk from the c2c rail
network and historic Rainham Village.
The Lanes Hair and Beauty
Brentwood
A dedicated vocational resource, equipped to
the highest industry standards provides Hair
and Beauty training.

Learning Resources Centre (LRC)
Our modern Learning Resources Centres give
you the freedom to make the most of your
study time. The Centres put more than 60,000
items at your fingertips, including books,
periodicals, DVDs and videos as well as online
resources such as journals, encyclopaedias
and e-books.
Tutorial Support
As a student with us there are many
opportunities for you to identify areas where
you may need support. Our academic skills
sessions provide the chance to develop study
skills, research methods and essay writing
techniques in order to make your studies
easier. In addition to this our small class sizes
allow us to offer individual tutorial sessions
where you can discuss your progress on the
course and set goals for the future.
Student Services
We know you are going to work hard- that’s
why our Student Services team do the
maximum to help you have fun. They offer
a variety of social and sporting activities,

Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Higher

industrial and professional bodies, so that you
gain valuable skills that prepare you for both
work and progression.
Foundation Degrees
Developed for the modern world, providing much
needed high-level skills and work experience,
Foundation Degrees enable you to enter your
chosen career at a higher level or progress to a
Bachelors degree. Designed to remain current
with needs and trends in the workplace, the
qualification you achieve will be tailored to
meet the requirements of industry. Foundation
Degrees at Havering College require two years
of full time study or part-time over three years.

The £6 million Centre for Creative Arts is based
in a modern and innovative building equipped
with superb resources and facilities. These
include specialist darkrooms, Apple Mac suites,
television and sound studios and a video editing
suite, plus specialist dance drama and fashion
studios. All Creative Arts students have the
opportunity to contribute to live performances
and exhibitions, both in-house and established
theatres such as The London Palladium, and
galleries such as the Rag Factory and the
Free Range exhibition at the Old Truman
Brewery London.

training kitchens and have their own commercial
restaurant, The Jubilee.

authorised trainer and offer PC, Programming
and Networking specialist qualifications.
