Hello Kitty
• 50’• 32 Handlers
Leaping down our parade route and making her debut today in
her beautiful ballerina costume is the star of our show “Hello
Kitty,”the little white cat whose spirit of fun and friendship has
been bringing smiles to millions for 30 years.
Hello Kitty was born in London, England where she lives with her
parents and twin sister, Mimi. Both Hello Kitty and Mimi are in the
third grade.
When school’s out, Hello Kitty travels the world making friends.
Her generosity and kindness endear her to everyone she meets.
Her hobbies include music, reading and eating the sweets, she and
her sister bake, and best of all, making new friends. “After all,”
she says,” you can never have too many friends.”
In 1994, Hello Kitty was made the Child ambassador of UNICEF in
Japan.
Our Hello Kitty balloon stands 50 feet tall and will be gracefully
guided down our route by 32 feline friends.
In the words of Hello Kitty “ Spreading happiness makes the world
a better place.” And after looking at the faces of the children and
adults lining our Parade route today, I believe she has achieved
her goal.
The Hello Kitty Balloon was produced by Toni McKay of StarBound
Entertainment of New Castle, Pa. and is licensed through Sanrio
Co. LTD.
Paddington Bear
• 50’• 34 Handlers
Here comes everyone’s favorite marmalade loving bear, Paddington!
Looking dapper in his duffle coat and floppy hat, he has traveled
all the way from London looking for adventure! Always loving a
celebration, Paddington has come here to celebrate with all of the
boys and girls!
Paddington arrived at a London subway station which is where the
very first story begins with the words: “Mr. and Mrs. Brown first
met Paddington on a railway platform. In fact, that was how he
came to have such an unusual name for a bear for Paddington was
the name of the station.” The bear was wearing nothing but a hat
and he had a label round his neck bearing the words “Please Look
After This Bear. Thank You.” And that is exactly what the Browns
did!
Michael Bond published his first book, A Bear Called Paddington,
in 1958. He says the inspiration for Paddington came from a bear
he felt sorry for that he saw in a London shop. He bought it for his
wife, Brenda, and was inspired to begin writing about the bear’s
fantastic adventures. And ever since then, children of all ages are
enamored with the cute little bear with his funny droopy hat and
cheery Wellington Boots.
This Paddington Bear is quite larger that he was that day the
Browns found him. Today, he stands at an amazing 50 feet tall. And
instead of eating his very, very favorite food marmalade, today he
dined on a feast of 6,000 cubic feet of helium to help him amble
down our streets today. Helping along are 34 of his beary, beary
important helpers.
Paddington was produced by Toni McKay of StarBound Entertainment.
Curious George
• 50’• 34 Handlers
The ingenious little monkey who left the jungle so many years ago
to live with the man in the yellow hat has found a lasting place in
the hearts of millions of boys and girls.
Curious George was created by Margaret Rey and her husband H.A.
Rey and their books have sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
This cheerful and amazing hero’s knack for getting himself in and
out of trouble while taking everything in stride has kept generations
of readers enthralled.
Curious George has been on many, many adventures: he rides a
bike, gets a medal, learns the alphabet and he is here with us,
today ... Curious George goes to the parade!
Curious George is monkeying above us 50 feet in the air and has 34
special monkey-handlers to help him down the street. Before the
parade, Curious George will snack on 5,500 cubic feet of helium
(banana flavor, of course!)
Curious George is licensed by Universal Studios and was brought to
us by StarBound Entertainment of New Castle, Pa.
My Little Pony
• 50’• 20 Handlers
For more than 20 years, My Little Pony has given children a world
of surprises and spontaneity, sunshine and sillyness. One of the
most popular My Little Pony’s of all time is Pinkie Pie ... and here
she is today almost 50 feet long.
If you know anything about Pinkie Pie, you know that she is the
sweetest lamb of a pony who loves trying new, fun things, but
sometimes she gets a little bit nervous. But she doesn’t need to
be nervous about flying in our parade because with 6,000 cubic
feet of helium and 20 expert handlers she is sure to fly down the
parade route with ease.

The Grinch Who
Stole Christmas
• 50’• 22 Handlers
Who’s that coming ... so tall and so green ... he is as big as a
house, I sure hope he’s not mean. Why it’s the Grinch Who Stole
Christmas ... and he comes all the way from Who-ville to be in our
parade this fine day.
High in the air, over five stories tall, with a heart almost as big,
the “Grinch” is a giant helium balloon that actually weighs only
98 pounds. But fill him with 3400 cubic feet of helium and all 50
feet of him are ready to march down the parade route, with the
help of his 22 handlers.

Frosty
• 50’• 32 Handlers
In the meadow, we could build a snowman ... but if you were to
try and build this wintry wonder, you would need to do so from
a fifth floor window! It is none other than our old pal, Frosty the
Snowman!
This snowman stands over 50 feet tall! He is all dressed for the
holidays in his green silk top hat and has a cheerful red bow tie to
celebrate the season!
If you wanted to buy Frosty a new pair of boots for Christmas, you
better find a shoe store that sells a size 16 ... that’s 16 feet long,
of course!
And just what does a 50 tall snowman eat before such a splendid
event? Try 5,000 cubic feet of helium! And a team of 32 volunteer
balloon handlers will be on hand to guide this magical holiday hero
through the streets of our parade route.
Frosty the Snowman was produced by Toni McKay from StarBound
Entertainment in New Castle, Pa.
The Penguin Family
• 25’ each • 36 Handlers (12 each)
Everyone seems to love the adorable little animals that look like
funny little people with beaks and awkward arms dressed up for
a party. And today, coming all the way from the North Pole is none
other that the Penguin family, Nicholas, Francene and Christopher.
Penguins come in all sizes from 2 1/2 pounds to 90 pounds each.
These cheerful penguin balloons are over 25 feet tall and weigh
over 100 pounds each!
The favorite food of penguins is fish, shrimp, krill and squid. This
trio opted for a pre-parade snack of 6,000 cubic feet of helium.
Most people think of penguins as birds of ice and snow. However,
only two of the 17 species are native to Antarctica and the rest of
them live in warmer climates. Even though penguins in a group look
alike, they are able to distinguish their mates by their trumpet-like
songs. Each bird in a pair must know its partner well.
The Penguin Family was designed and produced by Toni McKay of
StarBound Entertainment.
Thomas the Tank Engine
• 30’ each • 18 Handlers
Look who’s coming, it’s the steam engine with the smiling face
... it’s Thomas The Tank Engine - Number 1. And Thomas is really
smiling today...because his great adventure is being here in Dallas
for this wonderful parade.
This Thomas The Tank Engine balloon is over 30 feet long, eight
feet wide and 12 feet high. He runs on helium, about 2400 cubic
feet and instead of an engineer and fireman he needs 18 handlers
to guide him down the parade route.
On an historical note and for you train buffs, Thomas is designed
after a London Brighton and South Coast Railway 0-6-0 E2 with
extended side tanks.
Thomas is a trademark and copyright of HIT Entertainment. Thomas
the balloon is a creation from Big Events, Inc., San Diego, Ca.
Jay Jay the Jet Plane
• 30’ • 14 Handlers
One of the world’s most popular, entertaining animated characters
from the PBS television series has landed here today. Ladies and
gentlemen, boys and girls ... all the way from his magical home at
Tarrytown Airport here is Jay Jay The Jet Plane.
Our Jay Jay the Jet Plane parade balloon is 30 feet long and nearly
25 feet wide from wing tip to wing tip. It took over 200 yards of
special sealed helium fabric and 280 man-hours to construct and
paint this splendid balloon.
It takes about 3000 cubic feet of helium to make Jay Jay fly and
with his 14 handlers, he does fly very well.
