evening at 5:30 pm. At this
Mass the Sacred Oils are blessed
for use throughout the year. The priests also
renew their commitment to the service of the
Church at this Mass each year.
At the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy
Thursday evening at 8:00 pm we remember the
Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples, including
the Washing of the Feet, recalling Jesus’ washing
the feet of the disciples. This year we invite you
to have your feet washed, if you wish. Some of
you will also be able to wash the feet of others,
if you wish. Be sure to wear shoes and socks that
are easily removed. We will give further
instructions at the Mass. We process at the end of
Mass to the Hall where you may pray until
midnight when we conclude with Night Prayer.
On Good Friday there are several services.
The Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, in
which we read the Passion, venerate the Cross
and receive the Eucharist will be celebrated at
1:00 pm and 7:30 pm.. We will walk the
Stations of the Cross at 3:30 pm.
The celebration of Easter begins with the
great Easter Vigil at 8 pm on Holy Saturday
night. This beautiful service includes the
Lighting of the Easter Candle, extended Scripture
readings, and the celebration of Baptism,
Confirmation and Eucharist for the Elect who
join the Church that night. Easter continues on
Sunday with Masses at 7:45, 9:15 and 10:45
am and 12:15, 1:45 (Español) and 6:30 pm.

Eucharistic Adoration

Eucharistic Adoration in our Church. Please

Adoration begins after the 8:30 am Mass and

MUY IMPORTANTE
El sabado 2 y domingo 3 de Abril, despues de las misas en espanol y algunas de ingles, un grupo, que no
es de esta parroquia, estubo distribuyendo informacion sobre una reunion de oracion para el dia 23 de
Abril en Anaheim Ca.. El bolante dice, que es una actividad que la Iglesia de San Pio V Romana Catolica. Esto es una mentira. Este grupo no tiene autorizacion para distribuir informacion en nuestra parroquia y no tiene autoridad de ninguna otra parroquia catolica para guiar ninguna reunion y Servicio de
Oracion. Ellos, no consultaron sobre este evento con nuestro Pastor Padre Ted Olson. En la noche del 23
de Abril celebramos la Vigilia de la Pascua de Resu rreccion, todos los fieles cristianos se reunen a Celebrar la Fiesta mas grande del Ano Liturgico en la Iglesia de San Pio V y en cada Iglesia Catolica. Por
favor no se dejen enganar, por este grupo que esta tratando de llevarse personas de nuestra Parroquia,
para que no participen en la Celebracion Parroquial de la Resurreccion, a una reunion que no tiene nada que ver con nuestra Celebracion de la Semana Santa y Pascua de Resurreccion. Si tienen alguna
pregunta sobre esto, por favor llama al Padre Ted o a cualquier lider de nuestros grupos en espanol, los

Domingo de Ramos en la Pasión del Señor
EL FINAL DE LA JORNADA SE APROXIMA
Es natural que en cualquier jornada larga nos sintamos cansados a medida que avanzamos. Al acercarnos a nuestro
destino a menudo sentimos la necesidad de un “impulso” que nos ayude en el último tramo del camino. El comienzo triunfal
del Domingo de la Pasión del Señor cumple este propósito. Nos da energía en nuestra peregrinación de Cuaresma para que
tengamos el vigor requerido para caminar los últimos y, sin duda, los más difíciles días con Jesús en Jerusalén. Mientras se
levantan al aire nuestros ramos en una actitud triunfal, debemos preguntarnos cuán verdaderamente comprometidos estamos
para caminar estos últimos pasos con el Señor. Tal vez escojamos un “compañero de viaje” con quien nos identificamos. ¿Será
Judas o el desleal Pedro? ¿Caminaremos quizás con alguien que, con sincero entusiasmo agitó los ramos en la procesión, pero
más tarde, cuando la suerte de Jesús cambió, se burló de él? Quizá elijamos a Simón, quien le ayudó a cargar la cruz, o quizá a
las valientes y fieles mujeres que fueron hasta el Calvarioy aguardaron provistas de lino y mirra para honrar el cuerpo sin vida
de Jesús. Aun tal vez nos identifiquemos con el pagano centurión romano quien hizo su profesión de fe al pie de la cruz.
¿QUIÉN DIRÁ CRISTO QUE SOY YO?
El relato de la pasión contiene muchos personajes con quienes podemos identificarnos; asimismo, presenta toda una
gama de emociones, desde la gloria de sus comienzos en el Domingo de Ramos hasta el insistente mandato de Cristo de que
debemos imitarlo lavando pies en su memoria. También nos mandó que comiéramos del pan que es su cuerpo y bebiéramos
del cáliz del cual él beberá en estos días, que contiene la sangre de la nueva alianza. Por último, nosotros –que somos el
Cuerpo de Cristo por nuestro bautismo– debemos identificarnos con Jesucristo al final del camino de la Cuaresma. Debemos
ser testigos de la humildad y compasión que él demostró aun frente a la adversidad, el sufrimiento, el odio y el rechazo. Con
renovada energía, tal como él lo hizo, debemos rechazar todo deseo de buscar la venganza o justificarla; más bien, debemos
extender continuamente nuestras manos ofreciendo perdón, consuelo y ternura. Como Cristo, nuestro abrazo reconciliador
debe extenderse amplio y abierto, hasta que nos asemejemos a él, cuyos brazos se extendieron ampliamente sobre la cruz por
nuestra salvación.

FIESTA DE LA FE - El Salmo Responsorial
El Salmo es parte integral de la Liturgia de la Palabra y por lo tanto no debe omitirse. No es un “canto de meditación” y,
como parte de la Liturgia de la Palabra, ha de cantarse o proclamarse “desde el ambón o desde un sitio oportuno” (IGMR, 61). En
la naturaleza misma del Salmo está el que se cante, de hecho, son cantos que reflejan situaciones muy concretas de la vida del
pueblo de Israel, no sólo de victoria, o de alabanza, sino de tristeza, abandono e incluso, de enojo. Aunque la Instrucción para el
uso del Misal Romano permite que se recite, el mismo documento pide que se recite “de manera adecuada para que favorezca la
meditación de la Palabra de Dios”. El canto del mismo, puede ser de dos maneras: responsorial o directa. Aun así, la Ordenación
General de las Lecturas de la Misa prefiere que sea responsorial a fin de que la gente “comprenda el sentido espiritual del Salmo”.
Este momento de la liturgia no es “la hora del aficionado”, sino un momento clave, precedido por el silencio, para dejar que la

¡HOSANNA!
“¡Viva el Hijo de David!
¡Bendito el que viene en el nombre
del Señor! ¡Hosanna en el cielo!” (Mateo 21:9). Con estas palabras la Iglesia entra en la semana
más santa cuando conmemora la
Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección de
Cristo. Cuando el pueblo de Jerusalén gritó sus “hosannas”, estaba usando un antiguo grito
de aclamación hebreo que significa “sálvanos ahora”. El
rey a quien se lo gritaban los salvaría, pero de una manera
que sobrepasó sus expectativas. La salvación vendría del
madero de la cruz del cual colgaba Jesús para traer liberación del pecado y vida por medio de la muerte, abriendo
las puertas del cielo para todos los que ponen su fe y confianza en él.
