Meet and Greet with Malaysian Student in Pune on 5 April 2015
On Sunday, 5 April 2015 Consul General
organise his first Meeting with Malaysian Student in Pune. Accompanied by two other officials, Consulate team held discussion with the
student on their welfare, academic affairs and
other related issues of interest.
The student provided an overview of their education studies and living experience in India especially Pune. Overall it was a great meeting
and both side had the opportunity to have an
insightful discussion while having lunch at
Malacca Street Restaurant located at city ‘Tell Me and I Forget but
centre.

Working Visit to SAI Hospital in Chembur
Consul General made a working visit to SAI
Hospital in Chembur on the 5th April 2015
accompanied Mr Hidayat,
Attache Immigration. The objective of the visit is to have a
better understanding on how the hospital
runs the daily process of conducting medical
checkup for Indian nationals who wants to
work abroad including to Malaysia.
During the visit, Dr Abid Sayed, Director and
co-owner of the hospital made a presentation
and a tour visit around the hospital. He was
joined by Dr Amjadkhan Pathan. SAI Hospital
is lauded as one of the most advanced medical facilities in Mumbai equipped for complex surgeries with surgical theatres
that prides itself with a standard equal to that of any modern hospitals here in
India.
Overall the visit was very informative and educational at the same time in a
sense that we now know the entire process and the steps taken by the hospital
to ensure that the person going to work in Malaysia particularly will be properly
scanned in ensuring that we get the best, qualified and fit to work.

Selangor Investment Mission to India from 20 to 23 April 2015
Selangor Investment team led by Dato Teng Chang Khim,
Chairman of Investment, Industry and Commerce, SME and
Transportation Standing Committee of Selangor organised a
trade and investment mission to India covering Mumbai and
Chennai from 20 till 23rd April 2015.
The investment mission includes the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of Invest Selangor and chamber officials and business
leaders. Its aim is to discuss investment opportunities with India, as well as to promote the competitiveness of doing business and invest in State of Selangor.
During his visit to Mumbai, MIDA assist in organizing a briefing
by Consul General to the Selangor delegation held at the Consulate General and also a Roundtable Table Meeting on Trade
and Investment opportunities in Selangor held at Sofitel Hotel
which featured a line-up of prominent business entrepreneur all over Maharashtra.
Overall the visit was very successful with the Selangor invest team manage to have a very productive discussions on mutual investment opportunities in promising target sectors, especially in medicine, health care, infrastructure, industry and tourism.
Business Working visit to Nanavati Hospital
On the morning of April 24th, Consul General
made a working visit to Nanavati Hospital.The
visit was at the invitation of the CEO of Nanavati
Hospital Dr Rahul Bajpai who has show interest
to set up a medical centre in Malaysia.Nanavati
hospital, since its opening in 1951 has been
widely credited with excellence medical services.During the visit the medical management
team gave a brief tour on the facilities in the
hospital and meeting.

Working Visit to PETRONAS Mumbai
On 12 May 2015, Consul General had a working visit to PETRONAS located at Andheri, Mumbai. During
the visit, Mr M.P. Singh, Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Lubricant (India) briefed on the whole
operation system of PETRONAS as well as the past and ongoing projects
being done here in India since the establishment of the office in 2006. The
CEO also brief on the recent fire incident that broke out in the building on
25 March 2015. All PETRONAS staff was safely brought out of the premises and there was no injury in the incident.
PETRONAS has certainly
marked its present here in
India especially
Maharashtra with greater involvement in the manufacture of lubricants from the
formulation to the marketing and distribution of a wide range of automotive and industrial and transmission gear oils.
The 16th International Indian Film Academy Awards
The 16th International Indian Film Academy Awards will be held in Malaysia on 5th June 2015. With the
event coming soon to Kuala Lumpur a press conference was held today here in Mumbai with various of
bollywood stars present. Our officials from Tourism Malaysia attended the press conference as representative of the Consulate.

Consul General and Vice Consulhad a meeting with
Mr Bhatnagar, Chief Labour Commissioner, Ministry of labour
and Employment
On 1 June 2015, Consul General and Vice Consul, Mrs Sofiah
Othman, had a meeting with Mr Bhatnagar, Chief Labour Commissioner, Ministry of labour and Employment. The objective of
this meeting is to 'connect' with the senior officials and also to
discuss future collaboration between Consulate and the
Ministry for the mutual benefit. The meeting was very informative with both sides exchanging ideas and committed to work
together.

Ferriswheel Entertainment Ltd
On 2 June 2015, the Chief of Executive and Founder of
company Ferriswheel Entertainment Ltd made a courtesy call
on the Consul General at the Consulate.Ferriswheel is a
leading Mumbai based event management company
specilizing in conceptualization, production and direction scale
public event, exhibitions and festival for cultural at international level. During the meeting the CEO Ms Shubhra
Bhardwaj, invited malaysia to participate in the upcoming event
Worldfest 2015 schedule to be held in December 2015The
last event was participated by 10 countries including from
ASEAN countries Indonesia and Thailand.
ASEAN Working Lunch
The ASEAN Consul General based in Mumbai held a
working lunch hosted by CG Malaysia on 10 June
2015. There are only five ASEAN representative in Mumbai
namely Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vi-

Special Gathering with Middle East Consul Generals
On 12 June 2015, Consul General A gathering of all the Middle East consul general convened at the
residence of Dr. Mohammad Ali Patankar, a great scholar, businessman and practising doctor.
The aim of the event was to draw attention to the current situation
happening in the middle east and finding solution to have a solidarity among the muslim countries.
Consul General was invited as special guest for the event. The
event was well attended by Consul General of Bahrain, Oman,
Yemen, Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi and Iran. Others attending : Imams,
Professors, Businessman and ex ambassadors.ideas and committed to work together.

Health Talk “Cancer Awareness & Treatment Modalities’’
On 9th May 2015, Perwakilan Mumbai had organized a health talk that took place in Nanavati Hospital,
Mumbai. The topic was Cancer Awareness & Treatment Modalities presented by Dr. Sanjay Dudhat, a
renowned surgical oncologist of BNH-HCG Center.
This informative session covered everything that we need to know from understanding cancer (particularly
that affect women most), risk factors, screening, symptoms, diagnosis, staging & treatment. We also had a
quick tour of hospital facilities and equipments.
At the end of the visit, we learned that cancer diagnosis can often be directly linked to our family medical
history, our lifestyle choices and our environment. We can’t control all these cancer risk factors, but we
can take steps to correct the ones within our control.

member, Puan Kavitha (Matrade). She also highlighted about the upcoming
programs in June. We we're served with nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, kari
daging, sambal udang, pulut kuning, gado-gado, various of Malaysian delicacies and yummy mango float. What more of a better way you can treat yourself
in the summer, right?

A trip to carpet & furniture shops
13 June 2015 :What more exciting
than a day trip feasting our eyes
on beautiful rugs & furniture?. Besides the opportunity to lay our
hands (and foots too) on it, we
also got a chance to learn few
things about carpet. For example,
how to differentiate the handmade
and machine made carpet, the
types of pattern & design
(oriental, tribal & nomad) and the
notch count which will determine
its price. We also had the chance
to observe the handmade carpet
making process demonstrated by
the owner.
Newborn baby & birthday celebration
Perwakilan Mumbai has
paid a visit to Puan Salwani
who gave birth to a baby
boy on 6th June 2015. The
cute little munchkin, Aryan
Firash was born in Lilavati
Hospital, Mumbai.
We also had a small celebration of Puan Noor Hafidzah's birthday which falls
on 15th June 2015. Puan
