June 20 – July 29, 2016
(No Classes on July 4)
COURSE SELECTION: Begins March 14, 2016
Summer Academy course selection will be available online, beginning
March 14. This option eliminates the need to wait in line at the District
Office. Because of the switch to online course selection, classes will no
longer be assigned on a first-come-first served basis. Instead, the District
will begin taking course selection requests online, starting at 8am March 14.
Then, at midnight on Wednesday, March 16, students will begin to be placed
into their requested courses. Any classes that have more requests than
seats will be determined by lottery. Those students whose requests are not
selected in the lottery will be scheduled based upon their alternate choices.
Schedules will be posted at 8am on March 18. Please check schedules for
gaps and request changes as necessary.
The fee varies per course. See each course description for the specific fee
charged. The fee is waived for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch.
The out-of-district fee is $100 per period for non-credit courses and $200
per .5 credit course. There will be no refunds unless KMSD Summer
Academy cancels a class. There will be no transportation refund.
To view your child’s Summer Academy schedule, use your Infinite
Campus portal.
All Summer Academy schedules will be available through the Infinite
Campus Parent Portal as students are assigned to classes.
Parents/Guardians with active Infinite Campus Portal accounts:
• Log in using your current username/password
In-person course selection will continue to be available, also starting at 8 am
on March 14, through a fillable/printable form on the website, (www.kmsd.
edu/summeracademy). That form can be printed and brought or sent in to
the District Office or emailed to Heather Morgan at [email protected].
All course selection forms, submitted online or in-person, will be considered
in the lottery. Priority will be given to Kettle Moraine resident students and
open enrolled students. Non-resident students can turn in selection forms in
person or via email, starting March 18.

and adequately meet the student’s needs. We can not expressly guarantee our facilities to be free from
peanuts or peanut by-products.
COMPUTER USE:
The School District of Kettle Moraine offers Internet, e-mail, and network access (collectively “the

Movin’ On To Kindergarten
Kettle Moraine High School
June 20 – July 29, 2016 (No Classes on July 4 )
Dear Parents,
The Kindergarten experience can be an exciting and anxious time
for both you and your child. To help ease any uncertainties, the
School District of Kettle Moraine offers a six-week, four and a half
hour daily Summer Academy Movin’ On To Kindergarten program.
This program is designed only for children who are entering Kindergarten in the fall and will provide your child with an introduction to a structured school setting while stimulating and enhancing
knowledge and the developmental process. A daily schedule and
weekly calendar is provided to give you an idea of what units we will
focus our attention on each week. Through small group and team
teaching, your child will have daily opportunities to increase social skills, emotional growth, academic readiness, fine/gross motor
coordination, early language skills, and independent work habits.
All children will have the opportunity to work in small groups to
develop these skills.
Progress will be monitored throughout the summer class. However, if any questions or concerns arise, we will be
available to discuss them with you. We hope you will allow your child the opportunity to participate in the Summer
Academy Movin’ On To Kindergarten program.
The Summer Academy Movin’ On To Kindergarten program will meet at the Kettle Moraine High School
from June 20 through July 29, with no class on July 4. The course will be offered from 8:00am–12:35pm.
The cost of the course is $15 and is limited to district residents. Bus service is available at a cost of $40.00
per child. Please see the transportation page for more information (page 4).
Afternoon daycare is available through the AFTERSCHOOL program called Camp Glacier Creek. (See
page 5 for details.) If you have any questions regarding Movin’ On To Kindergarten, please contact the
Summer Academy Coordinator, Heather Morgan, via email at [email protected] or phone at 262-9686300 ext. 5325.
See you in June!
