TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
1.
Terms cash, check, or credit card. All lots must be paid for on sale day. There will be a $35.00 fee for any returned
check. Animals will not be allowed to exit sale barn without a paid sales receipt. Each animal to be sold to the highest
bidder. The auctioneer shall settle any dispute as to bids. Reserve bids accepted from consignor, if any, will be announced.
2.
Announcements concerning cattle made at the sale ring by owners or auctioneer will take precedence over statements
in the sale catalog.
3.
Risk. All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk and neither sale organizers nor the Fryeburg Fairgrounds
shall assume liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents which may occur.
4.
Tom Carper, auctioneer, acts as agent for the sellers.
5.
Health certificates will be available for cattle to be shipped interstate.
6.
Registration certificates will be transferred to buyers at sellers’ expense. Each buyer must give the clerk his proper name
and address for making transfers. All animals offered are guaranteed to be purebred.
7.
Delivery. Sale organizers will make every attempt to assist buyers in locating transportation at the lowest possible cost.
8.
Bidding. If you are unable to attend the sale in person you may contact the sale management to make arrangements for absentee bidding. You may also bid on-line this year as the auction will be broadcast live over the internet
by DVAuction (www.DVAuction.com). If you purchase a lot you will need to call with your credit card information as

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: *Belted Galloway Youth: Please See Below
Arrival: All animals must be in place by 8:00am Friday, April 2, 201, but not before 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 2, 201.
Health: All animals must meet the health requirements of the State of Maine to show at the Expo.
Youth will need to check with your state veterinarian for interstate requirements. Please contact the Division of Animal Health
Industry: Melissa Freeman (207) 287-3701 and indicate that you are participating in the Beef Expo.
Bedding: Stalls and sawdust bedding will be provided to the youth. You will need to bring feed for your animals.
Participation: The Youth Show is open to all youth between the ages of 6 and 21. You must be 6 as of January 1, 201 and not older
than 21 as of January 1, 201.
Entry Fees: There is a nonrefundable $5.00 entry fee per animal. There is an additional $10.00 entry fee for all late entries. Late entries
are entries post marked after April 1, 201. Total fees for late entries are $15.00 per animal.
Tattoos: All heifers, Purebred Angus & Belted Galloway must have a correct, legible tattoo to be eligible to show. They will be
validated at check in.
Registration Papers: Copies of all heifers, Purebred Angus & Belted Galloway steers registration papers must be included with the entries for proper processing. Copies of submitted applications for registration will be accepted at the time of your entry, but you MUST
have valid registration papers at the time of check in. Heifers do not have to be registered in the exhibitor’s name, they may be leased.
(Bring the proper paper work, to check in). Heifers are eligible to show in one breed show only. All entries received without proper
registration copies will be considered incomplete and charged a late fee.
Shorthorns: Will show under the American Shorthorn Association sanctioned show and sale rules. All Shorthorns must attain the
15/16-blood concentration level to be eligible to show. Appendix Registry Cattle will show in AOB. There will be an Appendix Shorthorn show if there are 5 or more entered.
Purebred Angus & Belted Galloway Steers: Must have a correct, legible tattoo and registration paper to be eligible to show in the
Purebred Steer Shows.
COMMERCIAL HEIFERS: All heifers that are not registered will show in the commercial heifer show on Saturday. They will have the
same classes as the registered heifers with the exception that they will not be eligible to participate in the champion of all breeds
class.
Insurance: All exhibitors with cattle at the Beef Expo must provide proof of liability insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000.00
coverage. This could be a commercial or homeowners policy (make sure it covers cattle off your farm).
*Please Note - Insurance Option: Become a member of Maine Association of Livestock Exhibitors and receive limited liability insurance while exhibiting in Maine. Visit their website www.MaineLivestockExhibitors.org, click on “Lists and Forms” then click on “Bylaws”

Clean Up: Your stall or stalls must be free of manure and hay. Please rake all the hay and manure out. PLEASE do not cover over the
hay and manure. All bedding must be pulled away from the side and end boards. All trash must be put in the proper containers. Thank
you in advance for helping us clean up after a very busy weekend.
Bred & Owned Steer Show: This is a class for the person that is exhibiting the steer. (Steer owned by the individual, not a family farm.)
*Belted Galloway Youth: Belted Galloway youth showing heifers either need to own or lease them through the U.S. Belted Galloway Association.
