The 2015 Season at Lyric was exceptional on many fronts. From strong ticket sales to superior productions, Lyric had a banner year. Artistic highlights included a
fresh take on the official state production of OKLAHOMA!. With a full orchestra and wonderful performances, it brought a renewed sense of pride in Oklahoma and
kicked off an exciting summer. The musicals BIG FISH starring Tony-nominee Emily Skinner and BILLY ELLIOT starring American Ballet Theatre student Brooks
Landegger showed Lyric was capable of creating regional premieres of Broadway hits that were just as good, if not better than their original productions.
Continuing our New Works Initiative, BERNICE BOBS HER HAIR by the award-winning writing team of Adam Gwon and Julia Jordan was our second premiere musical
and exceed critical and ticket sales expectations. Ending our season was the last year of this version of LYRIC'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL. With full audiences, many of
which have made it a holiday tradition, it was a great way to finish this version before starting work creating new sets and costumes for 2016. In addition, our
cademy students excelled in student productions of ANNIE and JOSEPH while gaining professional experience appearing in Lyric productions of OKLAHOMA!, MARY
A
POPPINS, BIG FISH, BILLY ELLIOT, and LYRIC'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL. With this new level of excellence we've hired an additional 5 new full-time employees in our
production department areas of lights, sound, and construction.
Due to our New Works Initiative 2015 we've also recently opened the 2016 with the world-premiere of MANN...AND WIFE and have been preparing for a workshop in
fall of 2016 and full production in 2017 of a new musical in partnership with Disney Theatricals. Lyric's national presence continues to grow as Lyric's involvement
with the National Alliance for Musical Theatre has strengthened with my appointment as Vice-President and Ashley Wells appointment as a member of the New
Works Committee.

With the same number of performances, 2015 Academy Shows out-performed 2014 by 22% in ticket sales
and 26% in capacity. Ticketed productions for 2015: Shrek Jr., Legally Blonde, RoKademY (Abbey Road),
Annie Jr, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Enrollment:
Enrollment increased about 33% from 2014 to 2015, seeing a significantly rising interest in Production
Classes, and falling interest in Training Classes.
Income/Expenses:
Academy Income in 2015 exceeded 2014 by 17%, while expenses only showed a 7% increase. Summer
Camp Income rose 61%, Summer Class Income underperformed by 20%. With the addition of a $10,700
contribution from LAPS, Total Arts Education Income for 2015 increased by 234% from the previous year.

MUSICAL INTERACTIVE
Lyric Theatre’s Interactive program brings musical theatre
to life for elementary, middle and high school students
across the state of Oklahoma. Interactive for 2015
consisted of three different shows that played during the
school calendar year.
January through May we performed Oklahoma!
Interactive and Shakespeare Sings Interactive. Then
September through December we performed Sound of
Music Interactive. Currently we have reached 32,000
students and have visited over 100 schools. We even did 3
full performances at the Plaza Theatre for Home School
students.

in individual giving, foundation support, corporate
giving, and Lyric's 2015 Broadway and Brew event.
Revenue for Lyric's 2015 Broadway Ball and funding
from the Oklahoma Arts Council fell short of
budgeted income projections. Overall, fundraising
was up 3.8% from 2014.
