Dynapac Heavy Compaction
Operator's safety and comfort
With the operator’s safety
and comfort in mind
Dynapac’s rollers are always designed with the
aim of providing the best possible safety and
comfort for the operator. ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) with seat belt and working lights
is a minimum level. FOPS (Falling Objects Protective Structure) and various types of seat belts
are available to protect the operator. A system
that stops the roller if the operator rises from
his seat or if an attempt is made to operate the
roller while standing at its side is available for
the models that require that type of safety level.
Safety cabs with integrated ROPS are available
for many models and if the safety cage is not
integrated with the cab, the cab and ROPS can
be combined for maximal safety.
Clear view, good possibilities of seeing even
in strong sunlight, darkness or rain are facilitated
by the variety of options available with regard
to lighting, tinted glass, sun screens, internal
and external rear-view mirrors, and also wiper/
washer.
Steps up to platforms and cabs are always
designed in conformance with current stand-
ards for best safety and ergonomics; self-cleansing steps are used as far as possible.
Rails and handles are provided at natural grip
positions, and they have a diameter that ensures
a firm and comfortable grip. All floor surfaces are
laid with sandpaper type anti-slip protection or
grooved rubber matting.
Various levels of comfort are available,
but even machines that are equipped in the
standard manner always have ergonomically designed operator positions. A variety of
options are available with regard to the operator’s seat; with integrated adjustment facilities,
longitudinal and transverse travel, and rotation.
All to minimise load on the operator’s shoulders
and neck.
Adjustable steering wheel, clearly arranged
instrument display, all buttons and controls
within comfortable working distance, possibility to equip the cabs with fresh-air fan, heater,
air conditioning, acoustic insulation, hi-fi equipment, roof hatch, etc, also help the operator to
work in a natural manner throughout his shift.
ROPS/FOPS for all rollers
All Dynapac’s rollers can be equipped with ROPS (Roll Over Protective
Structure). In addition, most of them can be fitted with FOPS (Falling
Objects Protective Structure). The roof provides protection against rain
and the sun, and is also used on which to mount working lights.
Retractable ROPS
for easy transport
All small CC rollers have retractable ROPS as an optional feature in
order to facilitate easy transport. The ROPS is raised and locked by
simple grips.
Cabs with optimum view
Dynapac’s cabs are always designed with large windows to ensure optimum view,
both of the work area and over the roller drums. Tinted windows, rear-view mirrors and lighting are provided for all working conditions. Different cab widths are
available for the bigger asphalt rollers, either the same width as the machine or
extended on one side for optimum ergonomics and view of the roller drum.
Vibration-free cabs
Cabs on Dynapac’s vibratory rollers are always mounted on vibration damping elements to ensure maximum comfort. Entering through generously dimensioned
cab doors is made with the greatest safety because steps and handles/railings are
always where they ensure the least load on the operator.
High level of equipment
Comfortable operator’s seats of various types, adjustable steering wheel, noise
suppression, etc, all promote concentration by the operator on his task. Openable
windows, fresh-air fan, heater, and air conditioning, make it easy for the operator
to adjust the temperature of his work place.
Swivelling operator’s module
On medium sized and large asphalt and soil rollers the entire operator’s module
can be swivelled 180° because the roller is driven just as much in reverse as forward
when in operation. On asphalt rollers, the operator’s position can also move into
the side-extension in the cab to get the best overview of the work in progress.
Air conditioning for
best operator climate
Dynapac is first in the roller business to offer ACC (Automatic Climate Control); yet
another contribution in consideration of the operator’s health and safety. The system
maintains the preset temperature, on condition that windows and cab doors remain
closed. The flow of air can be regulated in three stages and directed to areas that spare
the operator from any discomfort of draught. Recirculation of air inside the cab can be
infinitely adjusted, from no recirculation at all to recirculation only. The temperature
knob facilitates the setting of a comfortable temperature for the operator, and maintains it regardless of ambient heat radiation.
Some models also have an AC available, only blowing cold air.
