OPEN ENROLLMENT
For the coming school year, students interested in enrolling in a Salt Lake City school,
who live outside the district or school boundaries, may apply for an Open Enrollment
Application during the Early Enrollment
period from December 1, 2011 through February 17, 2012. Applications are taken in the
Student Services Department of the Salt Lake
City School District Administration East
Building, 440 East 1st South, Salt Lake City,
Utah 84111.
Students may apply for enrollment in schools
designated as “Open” to transfer. Selected
schools, programs and grades may be at capacity for the coming school year and not
available as a choice for out-of-resident students. A list of available schools, grades, and
programs or other information pertaining to
the open enrollment policy may be obtained
after November 30 from the Student Services
office at the above address or by calling 5788206 or 578-8475.
Students currently enrolled in (6th) grade
must apply for transfer to the middle
school of their choice and eighth (8th)
grade students must make application for
the high school of choice during the Open
Enrollment period.

Ms. Kaly’s entire 5th grade class really
knows how to have a party! The students planned the party and invited
their families, After a fun getting-toknow-you activity, every one ate, talked,
played, and shuffled to great music!

On November 11, Mrs. Spencer’s
3rd grade class had a special
visitor for
Veteran’s
Day–
Sgt.Greg
Orton.
Greg was
a student
here at
Rose Park Elementary. As a
Sargeant in the Army, his job was
locating and disposing of roadside
bombs (IEDs). Greg survived a
very serious injury while on the job
and is now recovering back home
with his wife, Nikki, and child,
McKenna. He earned the Purple
Heart and
Bronze
Star which
he shared
with the
students.
Greg reminds us
of the
importance
of remembering all of our service men and
women every day! Thank You
Greg for what you have done for
our country and the peoples of Iraq
and Afghanistan! We are very
PROUD of you!!

aquí en el Rose Park Elementary. Como un sargento en el Ejército, su trabajo era la localización y eliminación de
bombas en las carreteras (IEDs). Greg
sobrevivido a una lesión muy grave en
el trabajo y ahora se está recuperando
en casa con su esposa, Nikki, y su niño, McKenna. Se ganó el Corazón
Morado y
la Estrella
de Bronce,
que compartió con

de recordar
a todos
