An aging actress (Robin Wright, playing a version of herself) decides
to take her final job: preserving her digital likeness for a future Hollywood.
Through a deal brokered by her longtime agent, her alias will be controlled
by Miramount Studios, and will star in any film they want with no restrictions.
In return, she receives healthy compensation and her digitized character
will stay forever young. Will she ultimately go back to living in the world of
truth, or surrender? Has there ever been a movie so aggressive toward
Hollywood power structures? —Indiwire

Would you trade your place in heaven for a plate of shakshuka? Maybe if
you were hungry enough—or doubtful about an afterlife. Almost biblical in
its themes, A Place in Heaven is ultimately a story of love and faith, of
stubborn human nature, and of fathers and sons.

In Tel Aviv, while six diverse friends–gay, straight, successful, not so
successful–gather to watch a Eurovision-style song contest, they jokingly
compose A Song for Anat (actually the work of Babydaddy, from Scissor Sisters).
They are as surprised as anyone when it is chosen as Israel’s entry for next
year’s competition in Paris. Starring a who’s-who in contemporary Israeli film,
television and music, Bananot/Cupcakes is, in Eytan Fox’s words, “about fun
and games and music and romance and happy endings.” A gossamer-light
musical comedy with a great pop score.—Jerusalem Post

Described as hilarious and devastating, bleak and beautiful, Turn Left captures
the clash of cultures in a socially turbulent Israel during 1969. When a few
English-speaking Indian families immigrate to a small town in the Negev inhabited
by mostly French- and Arabic-speaking Moroccan immigrants, mutual perceptions
of superiority bloom into a cultural war. But there are glimmers of hope as
two teenage girls forge a friendship, and the two groups bond over cricket.

In 1948, a group of World War II pilots volunteered to fight for Israel in the 1948 War of
Independence. As members of Machal, this ragtag band of brothers turned the tide
of the war, preventing the possible annihilation of Israel at the very moment of its
birth. The film brings together present-day interviews with surviving pilots, scholars
and statesmen, including Shimon Peres, archival footage, plus special effects by George
Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic, to present an extraordinary, little-known tale.
