Emergency First Aid
Course
A certified course valid for three years, providing an understanding of the
First Aid principles required in the event of an accident or emergency, with
consideration for live event, production and theatre environments.

Course description
This course is accredited by the Health and Safety Executive No 23/98 and
you are issued with a card of competence which is valid for three years.
What you will gain

✱ Open airway, treatment of a conscious and unconscious casualty

A nationally recognised qualification designed by the Production Services
Authority (PSA) and the Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) for people in the events
industries to demonstrate basic health and safety awareness.

Duration: 1 day Venue: Backstage Studio
Course description
Glastonbury Festival and the Olympic Games were the first events to
start using the safety passport scheme to ensure everyone working on
site had basic safe working knowledge. Companies, venues and events
are increasingly following in their path. On successful completion of the
course, delegates are provided with a credit card sized passport, which
indicates to employers that you have a basic knowledge of site safety,
common hazards and safe working practices.

Course
An essential course for anyone required to move objects by hand in the
workplace, to comply with legal and safety requirements. It covers the
importance of PPE and how to carry out a get-in and get-out with a team.

This course will ensure delegates are able to assess the risk
associated with moving and lifting heavy equipment and take the
correct precautionary measures to avoid injury. Designed for local
crew, stagehands, technicians and anyone employed in production, the
course includes the assesssment, planning and how to work as part of
a team when moving heavy loads during a get in / get out, as well as the
importance of personal protective equipment.

Practical Fire Safety

fire, with particular reference to fire risks in a live event environment.

An in-depth theoretical and practical training course designed for people
of all levels of experience with an interest in rigging, using a purposedesigned truss rig and a wide range of safety equipment.

Delegates will benefit from the wealth of experience and industry
knowledge of our tutor, Eric Porter, independent rigger, trainer, adviser
and committee member for the PLASA National Rigging Certificate.

✱ Basic lifting principles, rigging hardware - factors of safety, mode of use
