due to fluctuations in material cost.
Bluenose
Speed and Performance
Like her namesake, the Bluenose is the “High Liner” of our
propeller lines. These premium propellers are built for speed.
Bluenose Propellers are available in many common sizes and
pitches up to 50 inches diameter in two, three, or four blades.
Special cupped edges and finishes are available.
Bluenose Max
Performance and Adaptability
Our newest line of propellers has been developed in response
to the commercial and fishing industry demands for additional
ruggedness, speed, performance, and strength. This design
has a larger hub and more robust design (thicker blade) to
accommodate larger shaft diameters. Designed to withstand
operation in severe conditions, the Bluenose Max line of
propellers focuses on performance.
Grand Banks
Towing Power and Work Boat
Our popular Grand Banks Propellers are designed for maximum
towing performance. Designed for powering Workboats, Trawlers, Cruisers, and displacement boats of all types. This propeller
provides top propulsion efficiency along with excellent reverse
thrust, aiding vessel maneuverability. Thick root sections give
added strength for the most demanding applications. Grand
Banks Propellers are available in both three and four blades,
diameters from 12 to 64 inches and a broad selection of pitches.
Acadian
Speed and High Power
For crew-boat applications where speed and high power are
combined. The relatively large blade area allows for maximum
thrust in restricted diameter applications. The Acadian combines
extraordinary strength with top performance. Its rugged design
should minimize the possibility of damage. The Acadian
provides maximum speed with minimum cavitation problems.
Special cupped edges are available for improved performance.
How to Order
At LIFE we understand that propellers greatly affect the overall
performance of a vessel. It is very important that the correct size
and pitch be established and many factors need to be taken
into consideration to guarantee your complete satisfaction.
To ensure that we are able to find the right propeller for you,
we ask that when ordering have as much of the following
information ready as possible:
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Type of vessel
Size of vessel
Shaft horsepower and RPM
Transmission reduction ratio and output rotation
Maximum propeller diameter
Present boat speed
Present propeller (Diameter, Pitch, Rotation)

Size (and pitch) Matters
Propellers are our passion. We’ve been fabricating propellers for the marine industry since 1909.
This experience has proved invaluable to our process and quality control. Every effort is made to
ensure that each propeller is manufactured to the highest of standards and exacting specifications
with proven, durable materials. We offer Manganese Bronze and Nickel Aluminum Bronze as options known for their strength and durability.
In addition to fabricating propellers we are fully equipped for the repair and reconditioning of both
fixed and variable pitch propellers. This includes repair or replacement of tips and blades, pitch
readjustment, resurfacing, as well as static and dynamic balancing.
Our Engineers would be pleased to assist you in selecting the propeller that is right for your vessel.
Our Community
The Town of Lunenburg in Nova Scotia, Canada was formally established in 1753 as the first British
settlement in Nova Scotia outside of Halifax. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, Lunenburg
is a cultural gem attracting thousands of visitors each year to see its unique architectural beauty and
outstanding harbour setting. Lunenburg is closer than many think to the eastern seaboard of the United
States - just 400 nautical miles from Newport, Rhode Island.
