Guidelines To Be Read and Understood. This form Must Be Signed
Before Playing your 1st game.
No Refunds!
The 2014 Battle on the Hill for will be played under the National Federation High School
(NFHS) rules, except for the following changes:
1. Length of games: 2nd _3rd grade 2 - 18 min 5th -High School grade 2- 20 min halves with a
running clock except in the last 2 min of each half.
2. Time Outs: Each team will receive 2 Full Time 2 30 sec timeouts per game
3. Overtime: The first OT will be 2 minutes. Second OT will be 2 minutes stop time. Third OT
will be Sudden Death. Overtime will begin with ajump ball. One time out shall be granted to
each team per overtime. NO CARRY OVER
4. Forfeit Rule. Game time is game time. There is no grace period! A team must have 5 players
to start a game. In pool play, a forfeit is 15-0 for tiebreaker.
5. PRESSING RULE: NO PRESSING IF UP BY 30 POINTS 3rd grade no pressing if up by
20.
6. Halftime: Will be 3 minutes. The site director may reduce halftime if the court is running
behind schedule.
7. Coaches Box: Only the head coach may stand in the coach's box. If no box is marked, the
officials shall designate the area. A bench technical shall remove the right to use the coaches box
(head coach must remain seated).
8. Game Ball The Home Team will wear light jersey
9. Clock/books The Clock will be kept by the Home team and the Visitor will keep the books
10. OUTSIDE FOOD & DRINDS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDINGS. This
goes for coaches, players, parents and all fans.
TIE BREAKERS:
1. First tie breaker is head to head results
2. Second tie breaker is total point deference for games played only against teams involved in tie
breaker. No maximum points on this tiebreaker. After 1st place is established then head to head
applies
3. Third tie breaker is team with least amount of points scored against them verses teams
involved in tie break.
Sportsmanship:
We recognize the importance of sportsmanship in providing a competitive
environment that is positive and fun! We keep a file on each team/coaching staff and each game
official. Disciplinary Action will be taken for those who display poor behavior!
ALL COACHES. PLAYERS AND PARENTS WILL CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN A
SPORTMAN LIKE MANNER!!!
Absolutely no harassment or badl!erinl! of officials will be allowed. Coaches are asked to speak
to their players and fans about this matter prior to each game. Players will be assessed technical
fouls for such actions. Fans will be asked to leave the premises. If coaches cannot control their
fans and/or players, the games will be forfeited. Any player ejected from the game due to a
flagrant foul or unsportsmanlike conduct is subject to tournament suspensions.
Protests: The judgment of the game officials is final. Protests will be accepted for eligibility
issues and rules violations. All protests must be in writing and presented 30 min after the game
is complete.
Neither the Pony Express Basketball Club, D1 Greyhounds, its coaches, administrators,
players, or Huntington High will be held liable for any injuries to players, coaches or fans.
