ABOUT US
We
were
both
born
and
raised
in
different parts of Iowa. We met in
college and have been together for 12
years and have been happily married
for 3 and a half years. Bill is a clinical
pharmacist
for
a
hospital
in
Cedar
Rapids, Iowa and Michael is a senior
project coordinator for an educational
company
in
Iowa
City.
We
love
traveling, adventure and the outdoors,
but also appreciate time at home. We
both feel very fortunate to have been
blessed
with
a
life
surrounded
by
friends and family, and look forward to
sharing that with our child.
Our home
We purchased our home in January of 2012. It is a 4 bedroom, 3 & ½
bath home with over 3000 sq. feet, overlooking our 2 acre wooded lot
where we see deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, and various birds daily. We live at
the end of a cul-de-sac in a safe, close knit, family-oriented neighborhood in
one of the best ranked school systems in Iowa. We truly love entertaining
family and friends whenever the opportunity arises, as does our very friendly
puggle Ava .
OUR EXTENDED FAMILY
We have a close-knit family with wonderful relationships with our
parents and siblings. We chose to stay in Iowa where we were born
and raised to stay close to them. Bill’s parents own a farm which is
always fun to come home to and explore. Bill’s brother and his wife
have our adorable niece and nephew who are both very excited at the
thought of having a cousin to play with. Michael’s parents have
recently retired and are very excited about the possibility of having
their first grandchild.
FAMILY TRADITIONS
We always get together on Bill’s family farm for the holidays, where we
share laughs and stories and take turns entertaining the little ones. We
love hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas at our home with Michael’s side
of the family. We enjoy playing cards and drinking hot chocolate by the
fire. We both love Easter and Halloween as well and can’t wait to have
a child to decorate eggs and to dress up and take trick-or-treating! We
usually take 2–3 vacations a year traveling both domestically as well as
internationally. We look forward to taking our child to Disney World,
Yellowstone and eventually all over the world.
WE LOVE TO TRAVEL!
We love children and greatly enjoy our niece and nephew, but we
have always dreamed and planned on having a family of our own.
We have looked at several different options and have ultimately
decided that adoption is the right path for our family. Now is
the perfect time for us, as we are both prepared mentally,
physically and financially to welcome a newborn into our lives.
