Gold Country Indian Motorcycle
Riders Group – Local 1950
Vacant Officer Positions:
Hello GCIMRG riders. Recently, our members have gone on some great
Safety Director
rides. Tom, Linda, & Collin returned from their cross country trip to LaPhotographer
conia, NH for the Laconia Motorcycle Rally. Additionally, during the
July 4th celebrations, a few members road down to Hollister for the Hollister Motorcycle Independence Rally. Some met up with the San Jose IMRG for a scenic ride
through the back country roads to Hollister.
So, on July 23, C&E Auburn Indian will
be hosting the 111 Mile Motorcycle Ride
to benefit The Forgotten Soldier Program. Riders who wish to participate
can pre-register on their web site at:
http://

events.html
As part of the Gold Country Indian Motorcycle Riders Group, members can
help C&E Auburn Indian host this event
by coming out and volunteering a few
hours in the morning to help with parking and other activities. Support your
GCIMRG.
We need help, so please contact Connie
Naef at C&E to give a few hours of your
time to help out this program which
benefits our military men and women
who have served our country for our
freedom.

Safety Information
Some of our members have received notices in the mail from Indian Motorcycles of a recall
campaign regarding 2014-2016 Indian Chief Classic, Chief Dark Horse, Vintage, Chieftain,
Chieftain Dark Horse, Springfield, and Roadmaster motorcycles. (Recall Campaign: 16V446).
This recall is designed to address elevated exhaust temperatures which may pose a hazard. Indian Motorcycle has released a revised ECM (Engine Control Module) calibration that includes
engine misfire detection to address this condition. You may be receiving this recall notice in the
mail. You can contact your dealer to set up an appointment for an updated ECM flash.
Emma’s Corner
Hello Everyone. Hope your summer has lots of rides. "Get on your Bad motor
scooter and ride."
Carlo will be leaving next week for a long ride. He’ll be riding from the West
Coast to the East Coast for our Indian dealer show in Nashville, TN. After the
show, he will head down the tail of the dragon, Highway 129 in Tennessee.
Carlo affectionately calls it “Slaying the Dragon”. From there he will head to Ocean City, MD
where Highway 50 ends and then onto Niagara Falls, NY. Reluctantly, he will start heading
home after he visits the Falls. I will let you know in next month’s newsletter if he chose to
come home or keep going….
(Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap with 318 curves in 11 miles, is America’s number one motorcycle and
sports car road. Beginning at Deals Gap on the Tennessee/North Carolina state line is the Tail of the
Dragon. It is considered by many as one of the world’s foremost motorcycling and sports car touring
roads. Anyone looking for an exciting highway will enjoy this 11-mile stretch of US 129. Designated US
129, the road is bordered by the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest, with no
intersecting roads or driveways to hamper your travel. It is considered “the destination” for thousands of
motorcycle and sports car fans throughout the spring, summer, and fall.)
Until next time---Ride Safe and Often
Always,
Emma
