Thank You Friends for Letting Us Serve
You Since 1982!
Greetings!
Friends Advantage Members get up to 5 gallons FREE clean, pure
water each time you shop at Orchard Nutrition Center.
With our purification system, water first passes through a 30micron sediment filter to remove most suspended particles like silt,
fine sand and rust. The second step is a 5-micron sediment filter,
which remove any remaining sediment.
The water then filters through a commercial grade, solid block
activated carbon filter which removes chlorine and a wide range of
volatile halogens, pesticides, industrial solvents (such as
Trihalomethanes, Trichloroethane, Benzene, Ethylenedibromide and
Dichloroethene) and many other harmful, foul tasting chemicals.
The "heart" of the system is the reverse osmosis membrane, which
separates the dissolved impurities from the water supply. UV light
is then used to kill or scramble the DNA of any living viruses,
bacteria, or protozoa rendering them harmless. Finally the water
passes through a calcite block to make the water a neutral PH
leaving clean, pure delicious water.

Customer Testimonial
Two time cancer survivor Don Jacobs
has been an Orchard Nutrition Center
customer since 1998, when he and his
wife retired to Redding. Don is Gluten
and Lactose intolerant and has
survived two different types of cancer
in the last 14 years, both found by
accident. 1) Bladder cancer in 2001, he
had surgery to remove the tumor, and
2) Prostate cancer in 2015, he had his
prostate removed and did not have to
endure chemo treatments for either
cancer. Don also works to help "Relay for Life" raise money for
cancer research.
Don shops Orchard daily for supplements, specialty items
and organic foods for good health. He says he enjoys the friendly
atmosphere here at Orchard where he is always greeted when
he comes through the door.
Don was raised in Northern Arizona, joined the Navy right
after high school and then went to Humboldt College. He decided to
stay in California and work as a Game Warden in L.A. for 2 years,
Sonoma County for 3 years and finally in Burney for 20 years. After
retiring to Redding, Don trained runners and started the Redding
Marathon, but after he was hit by a car and suffered some serious
injuries, he could no longer run. Then one day his wife came home
and told him about a woman giving Nordic Walking classes. Don
decided to give it a try, enjoyed it and then decided to train to
become an instructor himself, but didn't teach for 6 months, until he
was sure the exercise was as good as advertised. Once convinced by
his own testing of the exercise and equipment, he then decided to
teach. He says it gives a whole body, low impact work out and
relieves his pain from the car accident. If you are interested in
learning more about Nordic Walking, check out their

Natural Healing Therapies
"Breast Cancer"
Solutions and Prevention
December 7, 2015
5:30-6:30 pm
"Exploring all options for treatment and prevention"
Being a breast cancer survivor I highly encourage patients to
educate and explore all options in dealing with breast cancer, it's
not a death sentence by any means, not even close, so come to our
lecture and get informed. The answers to breast cancer are the
same answers for any chronic illness! We will have a live
discussion, demonstrate the tool we use to find the weak areas in
your body and how we go about remedying those weakened areas
that lead you to illness.

MEET DR. LARA MAC
Dr. Lara Mac is a Registered Nurse who also holds a Doctorate in
Natural Medicine and has earned numerous awards in business
leadership, women empowerment in the workplace, motivational
speaking, and has been a health consultant for over 20 years. Dr.
Mac is also certified in NRT (Nutrition Response Testing). She
believes this is one, if not the best, tools out there for analyzing
illness in the body and then treating the illness with whole food
nutrition, high grade supplementation, and some life-style changes.
When Dr. Mac was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 13 years ago, she
realized from all her years as a nurse that there wasn't many choices
she had that would cure her. Although Dr. Mac was self-taught and
highly educated in all sides of medicine including; Herbology,
Homeopathy, Nutrition, Detoxification and self-awareness, she
continued to pursue her degree in Natural Medicine. As Dr. Mac
states it: "If the answers to very important health questions don't
make sense, then seek out the answers that do." She wasn't willing
to gamble her health on something that wasn't logical, or was based
on inconclusive studies. Thus evolved - (as Dr. Mac likes to refer to
it as "her life's most important work"), Natural Healing Therapies.
December Produce
Surprisingly, there is a lot of
produce to pick from
in December:
Brussels sprouts, kale,
artichokes, bok choy, endive,
leeks, garlic, chard, spinach,
walnuts, chestnuts, a rugula,
beets, broccoli, broccoli raab, carrots, clementines, grapefruit,
green onion/scallions, herbs, kohlrabi, leeks, lemons, lettuce,
oranges, parsnips, radishes, rutabagas, sweet potatoes, tangerines,
turnips.
Talk about ending the year with a nutritional bang!
The key to eating a variety of fresh produce and paying a reasonable
price is to switch up your grocery shopping list month after month
based on what grows seasonally during different times of the year.
Not only does this ensure that you have the freshest produce, but it
also allows you to broaden your fruit and vegetable intake.

Great Plain Sauerkraut
Sauerkraut the old school way. We shred fresh cabbage
with our high grade salt and let the little guys do the
rest. Great with so many things we lost track...let us
know your strangest or favorite use for the all American
original. The quarterback of
kraut! 16 fl. oz
Beat Kraut
One of our best selling and most versatile sauerkrauts.
We have combined fresh red cabbage with beets,
carrots, and a hint of caraway. This is great with any
cheese and cracker plate, the fresh flavor and caraway
clear the palate for the next course of cheese. Fantastic
with red meat, lamb and a phenom in sandwiches. Makes the
rubiest of reubens! 16 fl. oz
Veda Kraut
Named after the 5,000 year old Veda texts which are the
basis for much of India's traditional medicine and
religion. Whole curry spices are mixed with fresh
cabbage in perfect balance for a full flavor without any
hot peppers, garlic, or onion. This delivers a tri-dosha (Three doshas
in vedic medicine, means anyone can eat it) kraut that is the perfect
condiment with an Indian meal or if you just want a little indian
flavor with a western meal. Delicious served in bowl of any soup for
a sour curry soup. 16 fl. oz
Dill E Gent
Fresh cabbage with plenty of garlic, a hint of dill and the
remaining host of pickle spices like pepper corn,
mustard seed, and coriander. Try this with your favorite
sausage dish, potatoes, fish, or a little havarti cheese.
Don't be afraid of the dill, we experimented for years to
get just the right amount for it to be a nuance instead of a nuisance.
16 fl. oz
