We have worked tirelessly over the past two decades to evolve, innovate and perform with our athletes. Today, Orca is recognized as the preferred brand
amongst new entrant and professional triathletes around the globe.
Our story is unique: In 1992, our founder, former triathlon champion Scott Unsworth set up Performance Speedsuits Ltd in his native New Zealand, spurred
by a passion to create better, faster wetsuits than those on the market.
Three years later, Performance Speedsuits was renamed. The Orca brand emerged, inspired by the instinct and prowess of this sleek, powerful ruler of
the world’s oceans. Achieving the pinnacle of performance in challenging environments has, and always will be, our driving force. Our designs are organic
and in tune with nature, with a firm focus on performance.
Our wetsuits became an immediate international success. Since the late ‘90s, Orca has been a trusted companion to swimmers, runners and cyclists

Yamamoto 39-cell is an extremely flexible neoprene,
which supports an uninhibited natural swimming
motion. Yamamoto 39-cell neoprene extends to a 520%
elongation rate, meaning this material is sure to move
with you. Added benefits of zero water absorption and
zero weight-variation can mean only one thing: more
speed.
Yamamoto 39-cell is a high quality neoprene ideal for the
dedicated competitor looking for the Orca edge. A fine
balance between buoyancy and flexibility, #39 cell is a
durable material enhanced with SCS coating - which will

Super Composite Skin (SCS) has become the benchmark
for coating the neoprene used in triathlon wetsuits, to
reduce friction and increase speed through the water.
Orca uses the Yamamoto Corporation’s latest Nano SCS

The underwater coefficient of dynamic friction of the
Nano SCS is 0.026 in comparison to 4.0 with regular

Orca’s generation S-series speedsuit continues its evolution with the S5. While retaining many
of the great features of the S4, the new S5 introduces a 5mm front panel from neck to mid-leg,
increasing flexibility and buoyancy. The removal of a front seam ensures that it’s the most flexible wetsuit to date in this range. Like its predecessor, the S5 promises hydrodynamics, flexibility,
buoyancy and durability. Its full neoprene coverage includes SCS coated 3-4mm Yamamoto 39-cell
neoprene across the full front. 2mm Yamamoto 39-cell coated neoprene underarm and shoulder
panels provides superb range of motion. The back is made of 3mm Smooth Skin neoprene, offering

The Orca Equip is ideal for those transitioning from the pool to open water, or unfamiliar with swimming in a wetsuit. 2-5mm premium quality SCS-coated Yamamoto 39-cell neoprene front panels
ensure a range of motion normally associated with intermediate and top level wetsuits. 3-5mm
Smooth Skin neoprene panels through the back add buoyancy, while Speed Transition panels
aid transition times. The Equip’s Hydrostroke forearm panel has a distinctive silicone print, which
catches the water through the pull phase of the stroke. The 2014 Equip’s redesigned torso panel
also provides better body positioning, plus increased buoyancy through the waist and the thighs.
A multi-stretch lining makes the suit incredibly flexible. Refinements to the waist panel include
extending it over the chest, while retaining its 5mm thickness to boost buoyancy.

by Progressive Technologies.
Orca commissioned sports scientists at Progressive Technologies (part of Loughborough University) to assess pressure levels and
verify graduation in the Orca Killa Kompression Perform Tight, and compare it with an equivalent product.
The team used the Salzmann MST pressure-measuring device with a British Standardised leg form, plus a human sample of five
participants. The Orca Perform Tight consistently provided higher levels of graduated compression
(mmHG) than other existing Lycra-based compression garments. Orca compression tights are classified as non-prescriptive
graduated support hosiery, so they are ideal for active use, and the pressure exerted is not high enough to inhibit blood flow. Medical grade compression garments are not suitable for active use.

Graduated Compression: These garments use varying levels of compression to promote increased blood flow towards the heart. The primary
benefit is felt during recovery after exercise. Orca Killa Kompression tights have higher levels of compression at the base of the legs and calves,

COMPRESSION GARMENTS
CmmHg: A millimetre of mercury is a common measure of pressure and relates to the pressure exerted at the base of a column of
1mm high liquid. The higher the number = the greater the pressure.
Denier: The mass density of fibres. With fabric, the higher the denier, the tighter the weave, and the better the stretch recovery,
meaning it maintains original fit and compression for longer.
