ART HOUSE MONDAY
CINEMA SERIES
The Art House Monday Cinema Series at the Bear Tooth is a weekly event that
highlights the many genres of independent film, including documentaries,
indie films, limited releases, and local productions.
UNDER THE SUN
Over the course of one year, this film follows
the life of an ordinary Pyongyang family
whose daughter was chosen to take part
in one of the famous Korean "Spartakiads".
The ritualized explosions of color and joy
contrast sharply with pale everyday reality,
which is not particularly terrible, but rather
quite surreal, like a typical life as seen
"through the looking glass".
In Korean with English subtitles.

DIRECTOR: Vitaliy Manskiy

Dory now knows that her family reunion will only happen if she can save mom
