The Year of Consecrated Life Celebrations
Across the Archdiocese, we continue to celebrate the Year of Consecrated Life.
Over the past few months we have had the opportunity to pray, express our gratitude,
and raise awareness about consecrated life in our parishes and communities. We
came together to celebrate this gift of consecrated life to the Church and to celebrate
each other. Continue reading and learn some ways religious have already celebrated. Check the Office for Religious Year for Consecrated Life at
www.OfficeForReligious.org to learn about upcoming events.
North Side Celebration for the Year of Con
secrated Life took place on April 21st at
Mother of Good Council Convent of the Fel
ician Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of
Hope Province. The sisters welcomed us
with open arms and provided incredible
hospitality.
The South Side Celebration was celebrated at Mercy Chapel at Mercy Circle
on May 27th. The Sisters of Mercy of the
Americas West Midwest Community and
staff welcome us into their new home at
Mercy Circle, conducted tours and provided a wonderfully welcoming environment.
At both prayer services we recalled the gift of light that we first received at our own
baptism and at our call to religious life. At each prayer service we were urged to go
forth and proclaim to all the Joy of the Risen Jesus! After the prayer service we had
the opportunity to renew old friendships and created new relationships over refreshments.

The Year of Consecrated Life Celebrations (continued)
About 35 residents of Presence Resurrection Life Center, representing approximatey 12 religious communities, celebrated consecrated life on May 21st in the
Life Center’s chapel. They proclaimed scripture, read the words of Pope Francis
and lit candles for each congregation represented at the Life Center.
Religious at Presence Resurrection Life Center are planning a series of six events
celebrating the Year of Consecrated Life.
If your congregation or parish community is planning any celebrations for the Year
of Consecrated Life, please contact the Office for Religious and we will include the
event on the Year of Consecrated Life website. Check our website or contact our
office for upcoming events, celebrations, prayer services, and forums on Consecrated Life in your area.
