Energy Resources Production in Turkey
 Turkey has a significant resource/reserve of Lignite and a good potential of Hard Coal.
 Asphaltite, Bituminous Schists, Lignite and Hard Coal are available as main energy
resources in Turkey.
 By 2015, 14 Billion ton of Lignite resources (7th largest in the world) and 1.4 Billion ton of
Hard Coal resources are consitituted to the country inventory.
 With coordination of Ministry of Energy And Mineral Resource (EÜAŞ, MİGEM, MTA, TKİ,
TTK), 4 (four) new lignite deposits have been discovered:
• Karapınar-Konya Lignite Deposit
• Dinar-Afyonkarahisar Lignite Deposit
• Alpu-Eskişehir Lignite Deposit
• Tekirdağ Lignite Deposits
 Turkey has great potential for Geothermal electric power generation.

after years of
development.
Mining Law is still
needed to be
developed.
Turkey is located
between the key
commodity markets
of Europe, Asia and
Africa.
Unstable / stable
