HISTORY In 1906 A.P. Woods put up this 12’ x 18’ building to house the Colorado Telephone Company. There were several phone companies operating in the Yampa Valley during this time. They competed shamelessly for customers much as wireless companies do. Some companies catered to the townsfold, other ran phone lines out to the country. Businesses had to belong to more than one phone company so that customers could call them as the phone lines might be interchangeable from one company to the next. Minor repairs needed to brick PRESENT THE THISTLE DEW SALON PATRICK BESEDA 148 SOUTH WALNUT STREET HAYDEN, COLORADO OPPORTUNITIES The Thistle Dew Salon is already a landmark on the historic Walnut Street. The future of the building should be to continue to maintain and cherish the character of the history it holds. Leave natural brick finishes and patterns Updated signage on the facade and sidewalk could add to the small stature of the structure. Additional planting would bring green and lively features to the streetscape. Additional outdoor seating will attract people to the street. This building could easily serve as an example for the other locations on Walnut Street. FUTURE THE THISTLE DEW SALON PATRICK BESEDA 148 SOUTH WALNUT STREET HAYDEN, COLORADO
