March 2016 Newsletter - Crossville MIssion Bible Training Center
Crossville MBTC is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping desperate
men and women find a life in Christ. There is no charge for the program nor do the full time
staff/directors receive a salary. There is no gift too large or too small.
Perhaps family obligations keep you from making an outright donation. If so, have you
thought about considering including Mission Teens, Inc. in your last will and testament? Such a
gift would give you the opportunity to help continue the advancement of the kingdom of Jesus
Christ after your lifetime! Others have made this commitment and the Lord has blessed us
through their generosity. We praise God for your prayers and your continued friendship!!

Scripture of month: 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be
afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 NKJ
Come up hither, and I will shew thee things. —
Revelation 4:1
An elevated mood can only come out of an elevated habit
of personal character. If in the externals of your life you live
up to the highest you know, God will continually say —
“Friend, go up higher.” The golden rule in temptation is —
“Go higher.” When you get higher up, you face other temptations and characteristics. Satan uses the strategy of elevation
in temptation, and God does the same, but the effect is different. When the devil puts you into an elevated place, he
makes you screw your idea of holiness beyond what flesh and
blood could ever bear. It is a spiritual acrobatic performance,
you are just poised and dare not move; but when God elevates you by His grace into the heavenly places, instead of
finding a pinnacle to cling to, you find a great table-land
where it is easy to move.
Compare this week in your spiritual history with the
same week last year and see how God has called you up higher. We have all been brought to see from a higher standpoint.
Never let God give you one point of truth which you do not
instantly live up to. Always work it out, keep in the light of it.
Growth in grace is measured not by the fact that you
have not gone back, but that you have an insight into where
you are spiritually; you have heard God say “Come up higher,” not to you personally, but to the insight of your character.
“Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?” God has
to hide from us what He does until by personal character we
get to the place where He can reveal it.
Wisdom From Oswald Chambers
Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and
knows the One Who is leading.

My name is
Melissa Dawn Boyce.
I am 39 years old. I am
from Trumann, AR. I
came from a wonderful family with loving
parents who worked
hard to provide for
me. I started experimenting with drugs as
a teenager, which sent
me on a downward
spiral. Since then I
have struggled with addiction of prescription
medications and meth. That has extended over the
last 20 years off and on. I have been in 2 secular
rehabs, 5 detox programs, and this is my 3rd time
in the mission. It is only God’s grace in my life.
I was blessed to make it back! The only time I
have experienced a life truly full of peace, joy,
and happiness is when I’m living in the will of
God. So, I’m tired of running from God’s call on
my life. I’m so thankful to be here and this time; I
will not leave until the Lord tells me to go. Since
I’ve been here the Lord is restoring my relationship with my daughter and my mother that I destroyed with addiction. I know my purpose in life
now is to serve the Lord always. God has replaced
that emptiness and pain that consumed me before
coming back to Mission Teens and replaced it
with joy, peace, and meaning. I’m so excited to
see where my journey with the Lord will take me.
Philippians 1:6 “For I am confident of this very
thing, that He who began a good work in you will
perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus”
Thank you Crossville Christian School for blessing us in February with canned food and paper
products. We are so appreciative to all that donate to CMBTC, yearly, monthly and otherwise.
THANK YOU!!!
My name is Noah Kyle Qualls
and I was born on June 13th,
1988, which makes me 27 years
old! I was born in Jonesboro, AR
but I was raised all my life in
Harrisburg, AR. I had a pretty
decent childhood growing up
alongside my younger brother
Caleb who is the only sibling I
have and we are only 11 months
apart. But things changed when
I turned 7 years old when my
dad and my mom both got arrested and went to prison. My
dad went to federal prison for 10 years and my mom went
away for a year and a half. So me and my brother had to
go live with my grandparents. They got us into church for
the first time and that’s when I first learned about Jesus.
My mom came back home and we went back to live with
her and she really tried her best to raise us up the right
way and made sure we knew we were loved. But she was
using meth so life was up and down, like a roller coaster.
We moved a lot and I swore then that I would never use
meth. I never did drugs in high school and was a great
athlete in both basketball and baseball. When I got out of
school however things changed. In 2001 I started hanging
around with the wrong crowd and was introduced for the
first time to meth. It really took control of my life. All I
thought about was getting high and doing whatever it
took to stay high. I never picked up my Bible or thought
about God because the devil had a strong grasp on me and
kept me in the darkness. In 2013 I went into a deep depression, not even leaving my house for nine months. I
always said I would never use a needle but eventually
that ended up happening as well. In 2015 my little brother was using heroin at the time and I started doing that
too just snorting it at first but eventually we both started
using the needle. I got really bad because now I had a two
headed monster on my back. That all came to an end on
October 15th when I got arrested and got court ordered
here to the mission. I know now that God was truly working in that situation because He knew that was the only
way He could get me here. I thank God for that because it
has changed my life. I had to surrender and just let go
and let God have control. He has restored me so much and
I have a peace now that I have never had before. I now
have hope when I used to be hopeless. I have learned to
let my pride down and humble myself. He has done so
much restoration in not just me but since I’ve been down
here my mom who was a 35 year drug addict has not used
since I got here and my brother got into a faith based program and was set free from his addiction! Praise the Lord!
I am going to end with my favorite scripture 2Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away,
behold, all things are become new.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die,
he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11
We have been in the Worship Hall for two years now and its wonderful! There
are still misc. needs we have to make the building more useful and comfortable.
(Thank you everyone who gave toward the Heat/Air issue, it is now resolved!) One
of the major needs that we have been praying for and working on is a permanent
sound system for better hearing and easier performing during our events such as
worship services, plays and talent shows. There is an itemized list at the center and
below is the total summarized estimate. If your church or establishment has working sound equipment not being used we would gladly use it also or if you have any other resources please let us
know! Ask for JW Goodman @ 931-484-5171 for more info.
