Friday Night At The Movies
Lego Club For ‘Tweens
The library’s first Friday Night Movie will
be shown on September 27 at 7:30pm. Your
votes will determine which of this summer’s
hits will be shown: Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into the
Darkness, or World War Z...all PG-13 movies. Cast

services/movies or vote in person at the library.
Voting ends September 20. The Friday Night Movie
for October will be screened on October 18. Look

Here’s how “Cook the Book’ works:
Cookbooks are put on display at the
Reference Desk. You pick a recipe that piques your
interest (or taste buds). Before you leave, a library
staff member makes a copy of your recipe for you
to take home. Prepare your recipe at home, and
then bring it to the meeting to share with the other
participants. It’s that simple!

Please bring your own materials and quilting tools.
Tues., Oct. 22 Welcome to a new quilting class for beginners
and intermediates. You will find it fun and
relaxing. All the sewing in class is done by
hand. Before you attend the first class, have
an idea of the kind of quilt you would like to make: for
example, a baby quilt, lap quilt, or wall hanging. The
first quilt is an easy-does-it pattern. When you register,
you will be given further instructions.
Registration is required. A $10 per person luncheon fee
is due at time of registration. Please arrive at the Lab
early since parking is limited. Meet in the lobby of Grace
Auditorium where the tour begins.

Curiosity: Mission to Mars and the
Deep-Space Search for Another Earth

On August 5, 2012, people watched as the space rover Curiosity
landed on Mars. Its mission: to explore Martian soil for evidence
of water and microbial life. Dr. Kevin Manning presents what
scientists have learned from the probe using astounding images
and incredible video footage of Mars and space; and then the
progress of an investigation to search for extrasolar planets
among distant stars using detectors such as Kepler and others.
Following his presentation, weather permitting, a powerful
telescope is set up outdoors to view the night sky and see celestial
objects such as craters on the Moon and the rings of Saturn.

the link for Tutor.com. The expert tutors can help
you with anything from learning how to add fractions
to understanding your college-level statistics class.
