ISME Conference
The present ISME Conference on Mechanical Engineering is eighteenth in
the series of conferences organized by Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers
(ISME). The conference will be held during February 23-25, 2017 at National
Institute of Technology, Warangal. To disseminate developments carried out at
the research and educational institutions, Government of India has initiated various
programs, to become self reliant by the end of a decade from now, on all spheres
of life. For this, the role of engineering community is increasing day by day. To
keep abreast of latest developments in the industry, a platform is set-up under the
aegis of ISME to organize conferences. The purpose of this conference is to bring
together the mechanical engineering community to explore, disseminate and
strengthen initiatives in new directions under the broad areas of machine design,
materials and manufacturing, thermal engineering and industrial engineering. The
conference is aimed at enabling sustainable development through cutting edge
technologies of mechanical engineering.
National Institute of Technology, Warangal
National Institute of Technology, Warangal (formerly Regional Engineering
College Warangal) established in 1959 is first among the chain of 31 NITs (RECs)
established. It is an Institute of National Importance, a premier Institution in the
country imparting technical education of a very high standard leading to B.Tech
degrees in 8 branches of engineering, 30 PG programs and Ph.D. programs in
various specializations.
Department of Mechanical Engineering (estb:1959) is the largest department in
the Institute with 39 strong faculty at present catering the needs of both academia
and industry over the years. It is offering 7 M.Tech Programs and has about 100
scholars working for their Ph.Ds. The department is recognized as a QIP centre
for M.Tech and Ph.D programs. Two of its M.Tech programs (Thermal Engineering
and Manufacturing Engineering) have completed 50 years by 2015.The present
conference is being celebrated on the occasion of completion of Golden Jubilee
of these programs.
City of Warangal
Warangal is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage. It is situated
at a distance of 140 km from Hyderabad. Warangal is well connected by rail and
road. NIT Warangal campus is about 2 km away from Kazipet railway station and
12 km from Warangal Railway station. Passengers are advised to alight either at
Kazipet or Warangal depending upon the train of travel.
