The 2013 Show Season is 6 months old and we here at the magazine
have reached yet another milestone. 4 consecutive years of providing you
high quality photos, show coverage from all over the US and hopefully
hours of pure entertainment.
We had the pleasure of beginning the 2013 Show Season in sunny
Southern California attending the Grand National Roadster Show. What a
treat that was! Pure excitement and a nice history lesson from the decades
long gone, but were being re-lived by many at one of the top car shows in
the country.
The 2013 season has been a different one for us here as were prepare
to move headquarters from the Great State of Texas back to the South
Eastern part of the US in the Middle Tennessee area.
While this is turning out to be a huge endeavor, I want each and every one of you out there to understand that just because we’re moving, this
will in no way shape or form keep us from keeping on! We’ve been doing
it for 4 years now and there are no signs of slowing in the foreseeable future.
The South East part of the US has some huge events that I’m looking forward to bringing you right here in these very pages. The cruise-ins
are superb and the people are fantastic. In fact here in a few months I’ll be
giving you just a small taste of what this move has in store for you!!
Sit back, keep cool and enjoy this 4th Anniversary Issue of Wolf Motorsports Magazine!!! WMM

On Sautrday March the 2nd the small town of Rockdale, Texas came alive with plenty of chrome, vibrant colors and cool cars and trucks. There were also
a few food vendors and other areas of interest for those who like to shop. The car show featured around a 100 cars and trucks of many different makes and
model years. You think I would learn not to eat first so I could have tried out some of the food vendors on hand. I’m pretty sure they had my old time favorite
“The Fried Bologna Sandwich”. Oh well, maybe next time! Here are a few of my favorites from downtown Rockdale, Texas! WMM

You don’t see too many of these ‘69 Dodge Chargers out and
about, but when you do they are typically in really good shape. This
is a lime green example with Crager wheels and a black stripe and interior. Very Nice!
This winged wonder was as black as the ace of spades and looking
clean setting over a set of large 5 spoked hoops.

(top) Danny Paulk from Lexington, Texas brought out his maroon
‘48 Chevrolet Coupe to hopefully sell. Nice Ride Danny! (bottom)
‘52 Chevrolet Pea cup as my buddy Jim would call it!
I look at this ride and I immediately think “Road Trip”!!!! Black
with red pin stripes and cool wire wheels!

Orange you glad you saw this ‘52 Willis Aero Coupe? Birght orange with purple injection stacks and a cool looking engine bay!
Does this coat of orange make my rear end look big? Maybe not
the orange paint...but it does draw attention as does the narrowed rear
axel and big meats!!!
10 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
11
The white painted dash holds all of the modern goodies, like A/C,
CD Player and some cool gauges. The upholstry is black and white
striped!
When was the last time you saw a ‘55 450 Series GMC Pickup?
You don’t remember? Well I’m about 99% sure I’ve never seen one
and certainly not anything like this one. White all over wtih black accents and a cool sleeper. I could see cruising this one, but I bet it’s not
fun to put gas in!
12 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
13
This ‘39 Dodge 1/2 Ton is clean, original and simple but functional. The interior, while sparce is clean and well detailed
The nicely detailed bed was home to some oirginal ‘39 Dodge
tools, literature about the truck and several awards.

15
(top) What a better way to enjoy the show than with some cool
treats from Weezie the old time Ice Cream Man! (bottom) ‘29 Doodle
Bug!
This blue ‘63 Chevrolet Impala SS was neat as a pin and still
wore the orignal SS hubcaps attached to the steel wheels and wrapped
in black wall tires.

(top) In “Hog Heaven” is certainly where I would have been had I
been hungry enough to eat a breakfast taco or fried bologna sandwich.

Ford. The two tone color scheme is broken by some cool flames.
Check out the raspberry colored leather interior.. NICE!!!!!
41
This ‘29 Ford just screams traditional hot rod. It sits just right, has
a killer chop and many other custom
touches. The gold paint makes the
ride, as does the color matching Ford
steelies, rings and caps. The interior
is also a perfect match to the exterior
color and also features bomber seats
covered in matching brown leather.
There is just right amount of pinstriping. Well done Otis Schmidt from
Moore, Oklahoma!!!
42 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
The 350 Chevrolet engine has Cadillac valve covers and a few carbs with
red fuel lines. The hood and side panels
have been removd for this photo.
The tall gear shift coming out of the
floor takes care of the shifting duties of
the 700R-4 that is likely used for trouble free highway miles and maybe a bit
better gas mielege.
43
Julian Harris from Edmond, Okla

‘55 2 Door Sedan. It’s an injected 350 backed by yet another 700 R-4
The interior is spot on, not over done and looking very comfortable I might add. It has light grey ultraleather that cover the GTO
seats. I love the way the custom console just flows into the dash and
looks like it came from the factory that way.
Gary picked up a “Builders Choice” and you can clearly see why. It’s
got a Heidts Superride front suspension and a Camaro rear.
52 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com

wide whites.
54 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
55
Don and Pam Silaff’s ‘37 Ford from Nevada, Texas was probably
one of my favorites of the show.
The cool color combination caught my eye as did the stance. That
grey green paint is spotless, the stance is just right and the chrome accents are perfect. The wheels are custom large hoop versions.
This car was obviously spotted in the Winner Circle on Saturday.
The interior is clean, simple and has just right
amount of bright work.
56 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
57
Dennis Taylor had himself a show stopper wtih a rare and very cool
‘53 Desoto with modern 6.1 L Hemi Power!! I love the earth tone color,
huge tucked hoops and lowered stance. WOW...Just WOW!!!!
The mix and use of black, brushed aluminum and body colors in
the interior is beautiful. The custom console is extremely functional
housing the necessary items like cup holders, power window and lock
controls, A/C vents, Ride Tech controller and some crusing tunes.
Dennis obviously won a Goodguys Builder’s Choice Award.
58 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com

is a very pleasing House of Color Rootbeer. It sits just right over
American Racing Salt Flat wheels. Check out the 3 deuce setup!!!

color perfectly!
The ‘35 rides on a custom TCI chassis and is powered by a 3 deuce 350
small block.
60 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
61
Here is another awesome example of a ‘60 Impala that is all original from the ‘348 ci engine to the 2 speed powerglide and everything
in between. Add a set of large hoop 5 spokes and a stance and Viola!
The interior is just like it left the factory back in 1960. This
would be a perfect drive in car back in the day as you could stuff all
your friends in the massive confines, be comfortable and still look really cool whle catching your favorite movie.
The color is PPG Tasco Turquoise, has factory houndstooth interior,
and 18” Budnik’s up front and massive 20’s out back. His wife forgave him!!
62 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
63
Talbert Goldman from Meridian,
Mississippi brought out this cool ‘49
Studebaker.
It is painted in Dupont Chroma Premeir paint and it is simply stunning
and goes well with the Texas sunshine.
The truck rides over extremely large
Billet Specialties hoops and has a perfect stance brought on by the modified
chassis.
64 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
The dash appears to be from a late
50’s or early 60’s Impala with custom
gauges. The dash has the perfect colored matte finish and also features a
correct color leather wrapped steering
wheel that matches the wheels.
Leather and suede cover the seats and
door panels while high end carpet covers the floors.
A custom built console has a few of the
necessities including a CD player.
65
This ‘54 Buick of Jim Vagim cruised all the way from Pasadena,
California. It’s powered by GMPP 502 backed by a Turbo 400. The
engine bay is super sanitary and has some cool looking Weber carbs.
The lipstick red leather is seen here in the trunk which is carried
over from the interior. The black and red combination sure do pop as
does the tons of chrome.
The wheels are 20’s up front and 22’s out back and were custom made
by Billet Specialities. It has ‘56 Desoto headlights and ‘54 Chevrolet
tail lights and has been nosed, decked and the bumpers have also been
re-worked.
A Builders Choice Award was given to this awesome ride!!!
66 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
67
Tim Fitch picks up the groceries in
style in his hometown of Enid, Oklahoma in his dropped, LS2 powered,
4L70E backed, ‘62 Chevrolet Impala
Station Wagon.
The interior is fully custom from
the aftermarket gauges, to the Ride Tech
suspension controls, Vintage Air A/C
controls, down to the DVD/NAV unit,
and A/C vents in his console.
It is able to achieve it’s low stance
thanks to Ridetech. The added cool
factor is provided courtesy of Billet
Specialties with the cool wheels.
The red comes by way of Ultra Leather
and certainly provides hours of comfortable cruising.
68 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
69
Leland Lynch of Broken Arrow,
Oklahoma was letting the Texas sunshine in with his drop-top ‘40 Ford.
This screams COOL!!! It has a perfect
stance, polished chrome wheels and
wide whites to add to the COOL Factor!.
The body colored dash has been filled
with custom white faced gauges, and
A/C controls as well as vents. The leather wrapped banjo style steering wheel is
wrapped in matching colored leather.
70 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
Additonal interior appointments are
wood grain inserts on the door panels, a
cloth covered speaker grill in the doors as
well is peanut butter colored leather seating.
The custom console is completely functional with his cup holder for his favorite
cold beverage and a CD Player to pump
out some cool cruising tunes.
71
Mark & Ann Rowe from Brandon, MS sport a full Pro Touring
treatment on their ‘66 Chevrolet Chevelle. The color appears to be a
factory blue but the engine is an LS1 backed by a 4L60E.
The interior is body color blue with bright white upholstry and
door panels. The console is a custom piece with SS emblems and a
white shifter boot to match the leather. This drop top has A/C and
large diameter wheels and big breaks to slow it down!
That LS1 engine is anything but stock with the custom made “valve
covers”
72 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
73
Chris Sword drove 370 miles one way from Cabot, Arkansas in
this cool little number and drove back with the Godguys Ya Gotta
Drive ‘em Pick. Mostly original with the original 6 and chrome
etc. However, it does have an improved stance and some polished 5
spokes!
The interior is also mostly stock sans the leather wrapped stearing wheel. That white exterior with dark red cloth and vinyl interior is
super clean and the chrome is flawless.
74 www.wolfmotorsportsmagazine.com
75
Van Baiamonte from Lousiana came in with his cool ‘49 LT1
powered Chevrolet Coupe. WOW!!!
Randy Watson from Plantersville, Texas has this all original
(except the wheels and Ride Tech suspension) 90K mile ‘62 Buick
Station Wagon. It’s powered by a V6! This another example of a cool
60’s cruiser and made extra cool with some large hoops and a killer
stance!

Bench Racing
Bench Racing is defined in several different ways. The urban dictionary defines Bench Racing as:
1. To discuss quarter mile elapsed time of a car based on a list of modifications or horsepower estimate.
2. To discuss the estimated output (in horsepower) of one engine versus another based on lists of modifications
done to each engine.
3. To discuss the estimated output (in horsepower) of one engine versus another based on lists of modifications
done to each engine.
While I do agree with the Urban Dictionary’s definition of Bench Racing, Bench Racing in the context of this
section of the magaine will be defined as:
