and give
FAM Community Nights kicked off in April and it has been
great to be back with our friends at Los Arcos!
During the month of May we are talking about how we can
love God with all our heart, mind, and strength. Everyone is
welcome to join us.
There are some specific needs in May and June. If you are
able to support FAM Community Nights in one of these
ways, contact Kristy Elmore at [email protected]
GC2016.UMC.org is the online source for everything about
General Conference 2016. Live stream videos of worship,
voting and speeches can be found here, as well as news,
blogs, resources and photos. Members across the United
Methodist denomination are encouraged to pray for the
future of the church and for God’s Spirit shape the work of
the General Conference, May 10–20.

During this gathering of
clergy and lay leaders,
they will reflect on
where God has been
at work as well as hear
keynote speakers on
three main areas of focus:
developing lay leadership,
investing in the young, and missional congregations.
On Tuesday, May 31, at 7 pm all are invited to come
support Rev. Hannah Terry as she is ordained as a Deacon
in Full Connection.
Announcements
Don’t forget to pick up your Pentecost devotional
today. “40 Days with the Holy Spirit” uses prayer,
reading Scripture and engaging exercies to inspire you
to encounter God in new ways over the next 40 days.
Books are available in the church office for a donation
of $14 each.
Calling all Church Council members! The 2nd quarter
meeting will be held in the parlor on Sunday, May 22
following worship. This body, comprised of an elected
group of Committee Chairs and At-large members,
sets direction and gives oversight for the ministry of
the church. Council members are asked to contribute
to a salad potluck for lunch before the meeting. Please

CHANGE THE WORLD BREAKFAST SERIES
Don’t miss our last three Change the World
Breakfasts! Almost $1,000 has been raised
so far by enjoying a delicious breakfast meal
together.
All proceeds will be split evenly between Braes
Interfaith Ministries and Haitian Artisans for
Peace International for transformational work in
our community and world.
Up next is breakfast treats from around the world
(5/15), a chance to build your best breakfast taco
(5/22) and finally a red, white & blue surprise for
Memorial Day (5/29). Breakfasts are $7 a
plate for adults, $5 a plate for children
5-12 and free for kids under 5. Thanks

SUNDAY, MAY 15 (PENTECOST)
Join PrimeTimers on Monday, May 23 and hear the
musical group “Strings and Things”. Games will
begin at 9:30 a.m. We will have a short meeting at 11:15
followed by a covered dish lunch at 11:30. The band is
joining the group for lunch, so additional dishes are
appreciated. PrimeTimers is open to all persons 55 and
