Over 70 members and guests were in attendance to toast for better fortunes and a great year ahead. The evening was courtesy Eastern & Oriental Hotel a member of the Chambers. New Member companies were presented their membership certificates during the event. MICCI eNEWSLETTER issue 01/2015 PG 4 CHRISTMAS NETWORK EVENING MICCI Penang hosted its Christmas Network Evening on 12 December 2014 at the Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa newly renovated FIP Lounge (Fun, Interactive & Play). This festive treat was brought to the members courtesy of Shangri-laʼs Rasa Sayang Resort. Over 50 members and guests were in attendance enjoying the festive season and camaraderie. Some even tried the hip 3D selfie corners. MICCI Penang uses such opportunities to meet its members and guests on an informal basis to enquire on their needs and issues in their respective businesses. MICCI eNEWSLETTER issue 01/2015 PG 5 SUNSET NETWORK CRUISE Simpson Marine Brokerage celebrated its 30th Anniversary in 2014. They sponsored a cruise to the Penang Bridge for members and guests of MICCI Penang on 6 November 2014. On board the beautiful luxury yacht, the Four Flowers, guests enjoyed cocktails and light refreshments whilst treated to the scenic view of the shores of Penang as the sun set. Simpson Marine Brokerage is Asia’s leading international yacht dealer and broker providing full service to the local yachting community. MICCI eNEWSLETTER issue 01/2015 PG 6 JYSKE BANKʼS NETWORK EVENING WITH MICCI PENANG In it’s effort to enlighten it’s members MICCI Penang collaborated with Jyske Bank (Schweiz) AG to host a Network Evening to introduce foreign banking facilities. A Network Evening was held on 29 August 2014 at the Fullerton Suite of the Eastern & Oriental Hotel. Mr Thomas Ladefoged of Jyske Bank, Switzerland was in Penang to present their economic outlook and to give an introduction to the bank and their advisory processes. The evening was indeed an eye-opener to the many banking products available by Jyske Bank and Thomas managed to make new contacts here in Penang, ensuring that he would be visiting the island again as part of his coverage of ASEAN region.
