Colgate`s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™ programme
Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™ programme
Colgate and the British Dental Association are partnering in September 2015 to raise awareness of the
importance of oral health in children.
What is Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™?
Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™ programme targets improving the oral health of children globally
through education and prevention and, since 1991, has helped educate 700 million children across 80
countries worldwide.
As part of the UK programme, this year Colgate is distributing 350,000 oral health packs to teachers of five to
seven year-old children. These packs contain resources designed to help children understand the importance
of good oral health from an early age, and build self-esteem and good oral health practices for a lifetime.
What does this mean for dental practices?
Colgate is providing Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™ educational materials to dental professionals. These
can be given out to children and their parents as part of your ongoing delivery of care.
This practice pack contains materials to help your team engage with children and their
families about the importance of oral health and how it contributes to overall health.
The 2015 Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™ CPD programme which is
focused on children and involves community engagement is available
to all dental professionals. Please visit www.colgateprofessional.co.uk
from 1st September 2015 to download this programme. In December
2015, the best practice entry as judged by a panel from the BDA and British
Association for the Study of Community Dentistry (BASCD) will receive an
award and practice plaque which will be presented during the BDA British
Dental Conference 2016.
