Mill Tours
Get to know the “giants of industry” who settled Faribault and helped jump-
start the Cannon Valley flourmaking industry. Learn about the mill owners,
their claims to fame, the millsites they selected, and the people that did the
work. Take one or both tours, they are unique and cover different material.
Fee: $12 per tour. Limit 15 per tour. Handouts are provided.

THE KING MILL TOUR, Wed. June 22, 4:00-5:30pm.
Learn about the lineage of mills built upon Alexander Faribault’s pioneer millsite. This tour includes stories
about the employees, the famous Polar Star Mill, the Sheffield Mill and H.H. King Mill.
Meets at the King Mill Dam parking lot at 3:45pm.
LACROIX MILL TOUR, Fri. June 24, 6:00-7:30.
In this tour, learn of the famous LaCroix engineers--the LaCroix Purifier, and about their Straight River mill and
other adventures. Learn about the French Roller Mill, and the Matteson Mill that ground wheat on the very site
where the Woolen Mill sits today. Meets at the Faribault Woolen Mill parking lot at 5:45pm.
