In addition to the many wonderful items listed for bidding, we also have a number
of other auction fund-raising initiatives, including:
Fund-A-Need
Each year we invite auction attendees to donate towards a specific school need at a
dollar amount they feel comfortable with. This year's theme of new classroom and
specialist technology builds upon the enhancements made possible from last year's
Fund-A-Need.
54 Card Raffle
Volunteers from the 4/5 class will sell 54 playing card raffles for $100 each at the auction
between 6:30-8pm. The winner of this raffle will receive an one-night suite in Affinia
Hotel, NYC and $250 BR Guest Gift Card.
Pick-A-Pocket
You may purchase a "pocket" for $50 during the silent auction from 6:30 – 8:20 pm.
The buyer is entitled to all of the pocket's contents which may include restaurant, spa, or
other types of gift certificates, or even a bottle of wine! The pick-a-pockets will be
displayed throughout the Silent Auction room held up by a balloon.
Wine Grab
Choose a number and at the end of the night take home a bottle of wine worth as much
as $200. Over 20 bottles of wine up for grabs. $50 per chance. No bottle valued at less
than $25 and many worth $50 or more. It's worth the risk!
PROXY BID RULES
If you are unable to attend the Auction on Friday, April 15, 2016, but would like
to bid on items in the Auction, you can file a proxy bid.
Proxy bids for Silent items must be filed with the school in advance of the Auction.
Proxy bids for Live Auction items may be filed with the school or with a friend.
Please note, if you give your proxy bid to a friend, they must have your signed bid
in hand at the end of the Live Auction and at check-out.
Please fill out the proxy bid forms accurately and completely, otherwise your bid
will not be allowed.
Think carefully before you place a proxy bid since it cannot be withdrawn, and if
your bid is the highest it becomes a contractual obligation to purchase the item for
which you have bid.
Proxy Bids may be emailed or given to Patti Lesando or Pam Chin, and must arrive
by 3:30 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016.

Beginners created a mixed-media canvas with paint and tissue. Using a preprinted
canvas, remnants of the original image peek through, producing bursts of color and
texture. The addition of gold wrap adds an ethereal and mysterious quality to the
work. Children worked on this piece during the early fall, when the leaves were just
beginning to change.

Nursery West Class Art Project
As part of their Tree Study last fall, Nursery West children used a
print-making technique to create images of autumn leaves and
capture the beauty of the season.

Nursery East Class Project
As part of Nursery East's "Transportation" theme,
the children first created a busy road map by rolling
vehicles in paint to create tracks. Then they each
chose a traffic sign, and glues the sign and post to
the roads. Finally, the children arranged green
arrows on the collage.

"On the Bridge"
Keeping with the theme of Artists and Art this year,
children created a harmonious tempera painting on
canvas (30x40) using a "cool" color palette. The art is
inspired by Monet's Japanese Bridge and includes
pictures of the children on the bridge.

"Illuminated Letters"
Inspired by their studies of the Middle Ages, the children
in Karen & Rachel's 2-3 class have carefully hand-drawn
capital letters of Lombardic script. The beautiful
illuminated letters are finished with traces of gold and
silver leaf, mounted, and framed.
