Come learn about the programs LivingWell offers
that can aid in relieving stress in your life. Learn
more about what to expect from LivingWell yoga,
fitness, art and many other programs. There will be

Look Good…Feel Better® teaches beauty techniques to
women who are actively undergoing cancer treatment
to help combat the appearance-related side effects of
radiation, chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
This program is offered by the American Cancer
Society. One kit per person. Patients are allowed to
attend one session. Caregivers are welcome to attend
but will not receive a makeup kit.
WIG BOUTIQUE
LivingWell partners with the American Cancer Society to provide free wigs to cancer patients
experiencing hair loss as a result of treatment. No appointment is required.

Participants in active treatment and their caregivers
can come learn how to eat well when eating
anything can be tough! We prepare and serve a meal,
demonstrate a recipe and discuss nutrition topics that
include nutrition symptom-management strategies
(to deal with taste alterations, mouth sores, digestive
challenges with chemo), food preparation, food
safety and special nutrition needs related to cancer
treatment. Recipes, tips and education materials
will be provided to ensure participants are able to
use the concepts and replicate the meals presented.
Registration is required for each class; please
confirm your attendance by the Friday prior to
class. This program is sponsored by the St. Charles

Club Courageous

Club Courageous is a support group for children ages
7–12 who have been impacted by cancer. Attendees will
participate in a variety of activities to help process their
cancer experience.

Open to potty-trained children ages 3 and up, this
class is designed to give our younger participants an
opportunity to explore through art, and experiment
with hands-on activities, to open up their imaginations.

Counseling Services
Caregiver Support
LivingWell offers counseling services for individuals
and couples impacted by cancer. Please call to
schedule an appointment. A limited number of
counseling appointments are available at Northwestern
Medicine Cancer Center Warrenville for patients who
are currently receiving treatment at that facility.

SOCIAL WORK SERVICES
The LivingWell team includes licensed clinical
social workers located at Northwestern Medicine
Cancer Center Warrenville, Northwestern Medicine
Cancer Center Delnor and Northwestern Medicine
Chicago Proton Center. The oncology social work
team specializes in providing care and support to
help individuals, families and children impacted by
cancer to remove barriers to care and a range of other
concerns impacting their well-being. Oncology social
workers are available to provide support to anyone, at
any phase of their cancer care.

Facing Cancer Together (FACT)

FACT is a 16-week support group for individuals
with any type and stage of cancer.

Third Wednesday of the month, 2:00 – 3:30 pm
Come share experiences and form connections
with other individuals who have been impacted by
cancer. This group is facilitated by a licensed clinical
professional counselor.
Living Water Cancer Support Group
First and third Saturdays of the month,
10:00 – 11:30 am
This group focuses on the emotional, spiritual and
physical aspects of dealing with cancer, and offers
support and encouragement while helping people
discover joy, hope and healing through the Christian
faith. Open to caregivers and individuals diagnosed
with cancer.

Brain Tumor Resource and Support Group

Breast Cancer Networking Group
Third Monday of the month, 7:00 – 8:30 pm
Navigating breast cancer can be difficult and
overwhelming. This group, designed for those new to
the breast cancer experience, provides an opportunity
for participants to share information and connect with
other survivors. Sessions are facilitated by a breast
health Nurse Navigator.
NEW TIME! Metastatic Breast Cancer Group
Third Monday of the month, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
LivingWell is pleased to offer a new monthly breast
cancer support group for women facing metastasis
of their breast cancer. This group will focus on the
challenges unique to living with metastatic disease,
including managing ongoing treatments, changes
in relationships and facing the future. This group
is facilitated by a licensed clinical professional
counselor.
NEW! G/I Cancer Support Group
Third Thursday of the month, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Come share experiences and information with other
individuals with gastrointestinal cancer.

Lymphedema Support Group

Share experiences and information with other
individuals who have lymphedema. This quarterly
new group will be facilitated by Northwestern
Medicine Central DuPage Hospital occupational
therapist, Jamie Olp, OTR, and a LivingWell licensed
clinical professional counselor.
Us TOO Prostate Cancer Support Group
Third Tuesday of the month, 10:30 – 11:30 am
LivingWell is proud to partner with Presence Saint
Joseph Hospital, Presence Mercy Medical Center and
oncology chaplain Pastor Don Shank to bring Us TOO
to our center. Share experiences and learn about
treatment options, pain control, nutrition, mental
health, coping strategies and more. Drop in! No
registration is required.

Open to women who have had a mastectomy. Group
discussion will focus on the emotional, physical and
psychological impact of breast surgery.
This group is facilitated by Noel Storm, a breast cancer
survivor who had a mastectomy. Noel is available for
individual support sessions via phone or in person.

LIFE AFTER LOSS
Good Grief
Thursdays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
10-week session, January 21 – March 24
Good Grief is a time-limited group providing education
and emotional support for participants of LivingWell
who within the last 18 months have experienced the
loss of a loved one to cancer. Topics include
understanding the grief process, coping with holidays
and special events, and techniques to help participants
grow through the grief process. The group is open to
new members during the first two weeks of the session.

ARTrageous atmosphere, and a fun project!

Coloring Beyond the Lines

Coloring is the new therapy. Mindful coloring is a
great way to soothe away anxiety and stress. Find

Thai Massage With a Partner
Wednesday, February 17, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
You and your guest will learn a simple
30-minute Thai massage in a supportive,
relaxed and playful environment. In this
hands-on class, participants will learn the
body mechanics and techniques of leaning
pressure, joint mobilization and yogalike stretches necessary to give a relaxing
Thai massage. Participants should have
good body awareness and are comfortable
moving at times on their knees.
Reflexology
Reflexology involves massaging or applying
pressure to acupressure points on the body,
with the goal of reducing stress and supporting
overall health. These services are available by
appointment at LivingWell in Geneva.
Reiki Energy Healing
Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a gentle relaxation
therapy. Reiki supports the body’s own healing
process, promoting deep relaxation, well-being
and inner calm. These services are available

Gentle and Restorative Yoga
Yogilates
Gentle, mat-based yoga postures, restorative poses
and inversions, performed with the help of such
props as bolsters and blankets, make this a good
choice for all levels. However, you must be able to
get up and down from the floor.
This is a fitness class designed to increase strength,
balance, and flexibility using a pilates ring and a mat.
Emphasis is on core strength.
Guided Meditation
Guided meditation is a mindfulness-based stress
reduction program that can be done seated on a chair,
or reclining on a yoga mat. There is no movement in
the class, and no prior experience is needed.
